1935 Studebaker. Fun with King Pins. Part 6
edinmass replied to 37S2de's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
I would think brass will wear significantly faster than steel, especially if lubrication is not optimal and it’s a moving surface. You could waterjet some steel shim stock very economically. -

“When I’m good, I’m very good. When I’m bad I am even better!” Mae’s most famous line, and from this movie. -
Tom’s car is a great machine. I should have used the term smaller series, or actually looked up the correct nomenclature for the model. That’s my bad. Sorry about that. It’s certainly better than any early car I have personally owned. Best of all the car “has the look”. 65hp in 1913 was and still is a “Big boy toy”. I would own it without any hesitation. Also, it’s a five passenger, not a seven……..it has great eyeball. I expect the comment of “slower acceleration “ is because it’s built as heavy as a battleship. Craftsmanship certainly was as good as anything offered at the time.

Making Your Trailer Unique to Aid in Identification
edinmass replied to 3macboys's topic in General Discussion
The trick is multiple layers of deterrence. Never leave a car in a trailer…..never. Tracking tag is a must when on the road. I toss my iPad in the trailer and use it as a tracking device. It’s hooked to the battery for the winch so it will stay powered for a week or more, and gives me real time location with my phone for free. Just have to hide it well……which I have done. I also run a cable through the mag wheels and lock them also. Figuring if my unit is difficult, they will find an easier target. There is an old saying…….if you act like a victim, you will become one. I also have a motion sensor that will alarm if someone taps or bumps the unit. -

***STOLEN*** 1952 Commander Starliner hardtop with trailer!

Very sad. Those storage lots are useless. I kept my empty trailer at one and it was broken into, fortunately no damage. They did catch the thieves. It was several local police officers. -
iPad screen shot and rotated…..never did it before. It was easy on the iPad.

The first automotive Philco’s were made in late 28 with the “big heads” and supposedly made for the introduction of the Model J. Rumors are that only a dozen or so were installed. George Whittell Jr who ordered seven Duesenbergs new had at least two of them installed in his J’s. One in the fancy coupe, the other in the Town Limousine. I would expect the Model Z Jordan had the regular “first style” unit sold to Pierce, Cord, Stude, and others. The early heads were all the same but the radio box evolved often…….every few months, so while they have very minor external differences but internally they are much different. Until superheterodyne tuners we’re available, the radios were almost useless unless stationary. On my cars I run a 1938 receiver with the early head…….they work great and only five guys on the planet can tell the difference.

Garage Build Spring/Summer 2022-update Oct2023

What’s all this talk about a budget and waiting? I thought we explained it all to your better half when we covered the cement pad outside. Maybe I need to have a chat with her to “straighten her out”. Of course, like all my other friends…..I’ll be on her shxt list! Seems most ladies think I’m a bad influence on their husbands car hobby budget. She doesn’t need the new dish washer as bad as you need tools and equipment for the shop. 😎 -
I’ll lay this one on you. NO ONE makes a correct needle and seat. NO ONE. It’s a statement of fact. Please post photos of the new and old parts side by side……..

Thought it was a 12………not sure, but it is the smaller car.
