  1. You may want to add: --Grease the bearings, or, re-pack them. --At every hook up, I put grease on the ball and a dab on each of the stabilizer bars. --Tighten the receiver bolts on the tow vehicle as Howard Scotland mentioned years ago within an identical thread. (The trailer is always the main topic and seldom is the tow vehicle's receiver discussed.) --Tires dry out over the years. (Just replaced mine. They were 6 years old with good tread. Had 15,517 miles on them. Just did not trust them anylonger due to their age.) --Check the tongue lock plate that secures it to the ball for wear. Regards, Peter J.

  8. Hi, John. Very nice of you. Our AACA Library & Research Center would make a good home so future hobbyist could use them. Please give me until Monday so I could check with our Librarian, Kim Miller to see where your literature would fit the need. Thank you in advance, Peter J. Heizmann L&RC Committee
  9. Hi, Lars. I too have a 1972 TR-6. Owned it since new. My only experience with a similar vibration problem as yours turned out to be a worn universal joint. This happened many, many years ago and if memory serves me correctly, it generated the feeling that the transmission was going out. For starters, check the universal joint for wear and keep us posted. Here is a photo of my car in 2007. Regards, Peter.
  10. It is just a number...Happy Birthday and thank you for all your hard work... Peter J.

  12. Hi, Dave. Hope all is well. Personally, I have little to contribute to your questions, except, you may want to try the Vintage Triumph Register www.vtr.org Scroll down to the very bottom of their home page and you will see Technical Help. I just clicked on it and for the TR6 they note one Mark Pelham, Charleston, Ill (<span style="color: #3366FF">slimsqt@ma.rr.com</span>) as the technical guy for the TR6. Regards, Peter...
  13. Hello, Keith...Welcome to the AACA Forum. You may want to check our AACA Library & Research Center for further information. I doubt if they have info on how many have survived, however, we retain thousands of old vehicle manuals and literature awaiting your query. Worth checking out. Click on "Library" on the home page. Regards, Peter J. Heizmann...
  14. Hi, Earl. I have a 16' Southwestern trailer to haul my Triumph TR-6. Checked the literature I retained and it states GVW of 7,000 lbs. and an Unladen Weight of 2590 lbs. Granted, it is 8' shorter than yours, however, I would venture to say your 24' trailer is in the 3500 lb. unladen range as someone mentioned. Checked my Pennsylvania Trailer Registration Card and it notes an Unladen Weight of 2590 lbs. May want to check your Florida Registration info to see if it is noted. Agree with Paul Dobbin that 10-15% is the recommended loaded tongue weight. Regards, Peter...
  15. If recollection serves me, "early" VW Beetles with the flip out turn signal arms. (i.e...push the steering wheel turn signal lever down and the flashing turn signal arm on the left post would come down and flash.) May be wrong, however, Citroen may have had them, too. PJH... 16. 10mm...Welcome to the AACA Forum. You could make a for sale post in the "AACA Buy/Sell" forum on this site then eBay. Up to you. While you are at it, check out how to join the AACA if you are not a member, plus, all of the various services we offer...Library, Museum, etc. All are noted on the menu page. Well worth your time. Regards, PJH
  17. It was my pleasure, Doug. Nice meeting you. Cannot put a price on seeing Bud trying to insert what appeared to be a household key into the trunk lock. Determined gent if I ever saw one. It looked to be a very nice car at one time. Too bad it was stored in such a damp building. Nice parts car if Bud cuts the price in half. Regards, PJH
  18. David...Welcome to the AACA Forum. I highly suggest you check our AACA Library & Research Center. Click on "Library" on the home page, or, the "Resources" drop down within the header of this page. We retain volumes of original historical information and hopefully you will find info on the Fiats. Regards, PJH
  19. Great news, Wayne. Thanks for posting the update on Marshall. PJH.
  20. Agree, Dick. Flintstone is a bit hard to see on the map. Looks to be about 15 miles NE of Cumberland, MD. About 4 miles South of the PA border. Exit 56 off Rt. 40. PJH...
  21. Windjamer. The following is strictly my personal thoughts and not those of the AACA. With all the negative experiences you had and continue to express concerning the Fall Hershey, why not send your questions to the appropriate entities. (Hershey C. of C., HERCO, Hershey Region, VP of Class Judging, etc.) Hopefully, you will receive answers to your satisfaction. Personally, I never take much stock in "my buddy said" or "I heard". Go to the horse's mouth. . Regards, PJH...
  22. BJM...a good source to check out is the AACA Library & Research Center. Click on "Library" on the home page, or, the "Resources" drop box at the head of this page. The Library retains thousands of historical vehicle books, literature, and, spec sheets. Regards, PJH..
  23. Just a reminder, folks. The policy of the AACA Forum is not to be the media for negative comments concerning experiences with any and all vendors. Thank you in advance. PJH
  24. I work about 15 minutes from York, Doug. Could check it out early next week provided the seller is available around noon Mon - Weds. Send me a PM of the advertised condition of the car so I could compare it to reality. Remuneration? Forget it. We are all in this crazy old car hobby together. Helping eachother out "is the AACA". PJH P.S.--My car has Lucas electronics, thus, I need a lot of people who owe me one some inevitable day...
  25. Very good points, Glenn. All the more reason for Mika and anyone to utilize this AACA Forum to include the AACA Library & Research Center. PJH...
