Layden, The wheel I have is a 24" , the ss rim is 2 3/4" wide, it is a front wheel with the speedo gear. The wood is rough but the metal is ok. JB

Layden, I think I have a complete rough wheel, I think it is a 25". I'll check tonight when I get home. JB 1922 Buick 55 Sport Touring

I'm 67 and my list of Buicks starts in 1963 with a 53 Special 2dr ht , then a 1930-47, a 1916-D46, 1922-47, a 1965 Skylark Gran Sport 2dr, 1964 Rivera, and last but not least a 1922-55 Sport Touring, I wish I had kept the 64 Riv, I had a lot of fun with that car. John Beatty

If you choose to replace the carb with a newer one , it is possible to turn the intake manifold upsidedown and use a down draft carb. This has been discussed before on this forum. If this carb is not repairable I do have an extra. The Marvel model H is used only one year. JB

Sounds like you have carb. problems, a professional rebuild would be better but---. If you have not replaced the float, and be sure to seal the cork before installing. Check float level and while the carb. is removed check the jet tube for cracks. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

Steve, I have a few sets of levers for 1921-1923 Buick 6cyl. Send PM JB 1922-6-55 Sport Touring

Leif, I think the 39 was a lower cost version of the Model 54 Sport Roadster and has very similar equipment. Nickle radiator shell, windshield, hood locks, wind wings, probably shift lever, brake handle, also a walnut steering wheel. I think I have a wheel for a 39. As for the parts book, this model was probably introduced later in year so it did not get into the parts book. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

You need to have the engine installed. The weight of the engine will compress the spring , then you can replace the rebound rubber. To replace the bushings or shock, support the lower arm near the wheel, (jack stand). JB

Try LED light they draw a lot less current than the halogen bulbs and might be brighter. Your tail light wiring was designed for incandescent bulbs and may not be able to handle the extra current of halogen bulbs. JB

Error on previous post, the rear brake band lining is 1 7/8" x13" and 1 7/8"x 14". JB

Buick used two sizes of brake drums,in 22 and 23, the short wheel base 44,45,46,&47, were 13x2, and the 48,49,50,54,and 55, used a14x2.5 rear brake, wheel brgs also were larger. Those bands do not look right for Buick. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

John, With that style script lettering it would be 1923 or later, it's dia. indicates a 6cyl. JB 1922 Buick 22-6-55

$20000 does seem high, sounds like it needs more than a little light servicing. Good luck in your search, JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

What condition is the car?? A vacuum tank and poss cleaning the fuel tank does not seem too bad. A 23 Sport Roadster is a very nice car it has a lot of special features. Looking at the car in person before purchase is always a good idea, pictures lie a lot. You may want to reconsider it. Good luck which ever way you choose, JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

Hi John, It was great to meet you at Danvers. I think your wheel is the same as the 22-23 Sport Touring US models. This is the wheel I need for my 22-6-55 Sport Touring. The wheel I have will not fit the 22-6 steering column, and I saw a pic of a 23-39 and it seemed to have the same wheel. JB
-
Looks like it could be for a 23-39, I have one just like it but in better shape, and it does not fit a 6cyl. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
