  1. Tim, I think the rims should be black, the rim catalog shows cad plated up to about 1926 ????? then black after. I'll check the book later. JB
  2. If you go, check out Union Pacific 4014 Big Boy it's at the north end of the lot , on its way to WY for full restoration and will joint UP's other steam engines in their heritage fleet. JB
  3. Shawn, Try J and M Machine in Southboro MA. Check their web page http://www.jandm-machine.com/. They are excellent, and will tell you if they can help or recommend an other shop. JB

  6. Dwight, You need to use a puller because the axle shaft has a nut on the other end inside the diff housing. Lief's pics show it both the assy pic. and the parts pic. of the axle shaft. The 4 cyl hubcap is under 3" ( 2 3/4 maybe). JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  7. Terry, The hub cap dimension is for a 4 cyl car and they use 23" wheels. Still have water pump seals??? JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  8. Try J and M Machine in Southboro MA. They have an excellent reputation. Web site http://www.jandm-machine.com/ JB 1922 Buick model 55 Sport Touring
  9. John, The "Edison" looks like a scale model compared to the 4014 Big Boy that Union Pacific is now restoring. Check out " upsteam.com" JB 1922 Buick 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  10. Michael, Try McMaster Carr, they have a very similar fitting. (High pressure quick assembly brass compression tube fittings). JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  11. Michael, You could use a spdt (5 pin) relay, the switch would operate the relay. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

  15. Dick, The headlights you need are the same as 23 sport touring/roadster. Try Don Axelrod in Lynn MA 781-598-0523 JB !922-6-55 Sport Touring

  17. F&J I have an interest in the Buick chassis. Send a PM JB
  18. Dwight, The larger rim sizes are easier than the 19" ones you are changing. A rim spreader will work , but be careful not to bend the rim. Rim spreaders are biggest cause for bent rims. JB
  19. Jim, Check for spark, if none clean the points, when they sit open for a long time they can get coated with corrosion. emery cloth, then a dollar bill, the paper in the bill does a great job. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring

  22. George, Cast iron can be repaired. J and M Machine in Southboro MA is an excellent engine restoration shop and can expertly repair you block. A replacement block will be very hard to find. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  23. Fred, The rear fenders for the 1921 1922,6 cyl cars are all look the same, the difference for most is the width at the top and possibly the mounting to the running board. You could use a narrower one and extend it to fit. John
  24. Fred, You need to include the dimension across the top, from bolt hole to beaded edge. Rear fenders all look the same, 2 or three measurements is the only way to ID except part #'s. JB
  25. Tom, Have you found anything yet?? If you take the brg caps off keep track of the shims. JB
