  1. I think all Audi cars with HID lighting use a automatic adjusting system, using suspension sensors front and rear. HID lights can be blinding if not adjusted correctly. Cars with standard lighting have adjustable reflectors similar to sealed beam. Sealed beam had two adjusters one for vertical and one for horizontal. JB
  2. The steering wheel and the red embossed leather say 54 Sport roadster !!!!!! Nice car!!!!!!!!!!! JB 22-6-55 Sport tourig
  3. Dennis, The catalog is from a reprint included in a manual printed by Oakcrest machine, Ira Hayes had compiled a lot of info on wheel and rims. The listing of the c159 clamp does not have an illustration for that clamp, the pic from Mark Shaw may be helpful. JB
  4. The catalog shows that clamp (c159) was used on 1929, 1930,and 1931. It was also on 1929 and 1930 Oakland,1926 to 1930 Pontiac, and Velie 1925 to 1928. The rim size is 18x4. JB
  5. OOpppss!! Some how I thought you were talking about a 1928. I'll see if my catalog goes to 31. JB
  6. In 1948 a rear wiper was a dealer installed option, I don't know about the defroster. JB
  7. The Hayes wheel catalog is the reference, and it lists the Jaxon #34 rim for 28, the standard models using a 21 x 4 rim and the master using a 21 x 4 1/2 rim. The clamp is a # c57 wich is used from 26 to 28, and would be galv. or black. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  8. The Hayes book shows 26thru 28 both standard and master use the same clamp, c57. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  9. Google Ford GAA engine many sites with pic of the GAA engine, and its history. JB
  10. The Ford DOHC engines (GAA & GAN ), were used in the M4 Sherman medium tank, and the Pershing M26 heavy tank in WW2 and Korea. 1200 CI 450 HP at 1200 rpm , DOHC with 4 valves per cyl. and shaft drive on the cams, aluminum block and heads, two large 2 bbl carbs. It was considered one of the better powerplants used in the Sherman. JB
  11. jelp, can you give a little more info about the Ford tractor pistons, as I need 6 for 1922 Buick , bore 3 3/8". JB
  12. John, The inside drive assy of the cable is a chain, maybe one of the links is disconnected. Also both Tom and I have extra trans if you need the part for the trans. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  13. Your problem may be in the carb. The engine needs spark, fuel, and compression. Does the inside of the carb.(and poss. the outside), get wet after cranking with full choke? If not dirt maybe blocking a jet or passage. Let us know when you find the problem. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  14. Jules, If it has an oil cooler, it might be the problem. JB
  15. Hi Jim, I agree with Jason about the operating rod key. If the starter brush does not move when the operating rod is pushed in, you may be missing the key/cam that moves the brush. The pics do not show that clearly. You also seem to be missing the insulator for the field wire,( check Mark's pics). Check to see if the key is there. I can still send you pics if you need them. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  16. Tom, It would be better to remove the lower flywheel housing and turn the engine over from the flywheel. First try to move it both ways cw and ccw, if it only moves a little check to see if the waterpump shaft is moving also, if not the front shaft bush could be the problem. Towing the car is not a good idea, you can cause a lot of damage. Ask Tom Black about towing!!! JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  17. Tom, The moving gen brush may be to long, which would keep it from lifting before the starter brush contacts the arm. This causes the two elec mag fields to oppose. The result is a starter that will not turn or turn very slowly, and with very high current draw. Check bat volt when you try to crank, it may be low , also check bat cables they need to be at least 00 ga. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  18. Try Waytek.com, they have large selection of elect. supplies. Use 2/0 gauge cables for a 6 volt system. JB
  19. John, What is the brand? It looks like the one in my car, but mine needs the element. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  20. Darryl, You may have to replace the rim. You could also try to make it round again using a rim spreader, or use it as a spare. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  21. Tom Mix had a 320, and Arnie Goff did a lot restoration on it in the 80's. I think it went back to Germany. I don't have any pics of it, Arnie might. I remember the windshield frames got lost during plating and Tom was not happy. JB
  22. Ken, Try topsockets.com . They may have what you need. JB 1922-6-55 Sport Touring
  23. Lex, Check the gen brush, the most common reason for slow cranking is caused by the gen brush not lifting from the arm before the starter brush makes contact with arm. Good luck JB 22-6-55 Sport touring
  24. Colin, If it is the same as the US models it is a reel type cig lighter. I will try to get a pic of the one on my 22-6-55. JB 22-6-55 Sport Touring
  25. John, I am will try to get My 22-6-55 Sport Touring at least drivable by then, no top or nickle plating. JB
