  4. Hi Matt If its anything like my 40, you have to remove the windshield rubber seal along with the glass. I found that the seal holding the glass was glued to the front lip of the dash. If your glass and dash is original the rubber is like a rock. Which means a new rubber seal. Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  5. Hi Gary I don't think you had too many. You had a busy day, climbing flagpoles, and collecting pictures. Do you remember the TOLLs with their 49 RM Convt, when they got second place to my 49 Woody. Never saw that car again. Hope to make flint this year and bring some pictures from 71-72-73, only have a few left. JIm keenan is planing to attend, Jerry Bodden and a few other old timers will be there too. Stay warm. Jim Schilf
  6. I don't think so. The drivers side had remotes but passnger side was non-remote. I think this was common until 1971 Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  7. Hi This was a very long topic discussed some time ago. When I had my garage built I first used an Garage floor enamel. Little did I know that there was a sealer applied to finished floor. After painting the floor with two colors and a nice design, it never dried, some areas were hard and some were still soft after 3 weeks. I had to remove all the new paint with a scraper, a 30' X 30' area. Cleaned floor with Muradic acid and rented floor sander to remove all sealer. Applying a 2part epoxy paint with a roller was fairly easy. Paint has been down for 4 years now, after spilling paint remover, thinner, and paint, nothing has ruined the original paint or has it lifted. It was expensive at time about $ 35.00 gallon for the two part mixture. No matter what you use, make sure the floor is clean and follow directions of paint Mfg. Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  8. Hi I believe that the floor insulation is available from CARS inc or Bobs automobilia. This is the rubber/tar paper, you can get either one, but it only comes in large sheets and will have to be cut. IN 1994 i purchased a kit from Warshawskys all pre cut for a 1966 Buick or GM vehicle. I would check a chebby dealer as the 62 Imp might be the same. Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  9. HI All Way BACK IN 1973 at the BcA National show, BMD had placed 40 or more factory pictures on the walls at the banquet hall. There were pictures from the 20's through the late 60's. A certain young man (them) started taking them down, especially the ones of the 1955 era. Later on in the evening he gave me one. A factory picture of my 1949 Super Woody wagon. The picture was taken in a fenced in parking lot, the license plate was a Mfg. plate dated 1948. The front fender had NO port holes and the chrome trim from the parking light to the back fender was absent. 16. Hi Steve If you will go back to a post 12/28/02, Trunk repair on 70 Wildcat I think the same would apply to the 66s. Oldsmobile didnot have a body mount in the same area as the Buicks, usually the floor in this are is fairly solid. I was lucky with my 66 CAt the trunk floor was just starting and was able to repair it. Check out the olds, look for the same body series. Jim Schilf /palbuick@aol.com
  17. Check Hemmings or any other publication for vendors who can convert your original to a quarts movement. Best and easiest way to go. JIm Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  18. Hello I have seen several 64 & 65 Electras with the dual quads, This was an option that coud be ordered from the Dealer New or as a dealer instlalled option. Gas milage depende on how much lead is in your shoes, set up correctly with the progressive linkage you can get decent milage. These set ups are not getting cheap, as seen on E-Bay, some are asking 2K for set up and air cleaner. Another consideration will be the price of gas>>>>> JIm Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
