  1. Pete: If no one has taken your Reatta yet I would be interested? Please let me know if it is still available...I can pick it up one day next week that is convenient for you. Regards, Gordon
  2. Hello Buick fans... A few years ago I sold some NOS parts for this car. To make a long story short I now own the car in lieu of being paid for the parts. This is a real nice 71 Lark. It has GM NOS quarters (new wheelhouses), front fenders and inner front fenders (the inner passenger side is fiberglass). Rust free core support, great interior (bench seat with tilt), excellent frame, 10 bolt posi, excellent bumpers (but could use a rechrome). The engine is a 350/4brl with a TA cam, guts, headers, excellent exhaust system, MSD, tranny does have a stall but not sure of make/RPM. Prior to this partial resto the car was raced at New England Dragway (sorry, no time slips)...not your average 350 though. Engine and tranny run/operate great. There is not a spot of rust on this car and has been painted the original Stratomist Blue. I really do not want to part it out and would rather sell it as a complete car...it does deserve to be finished and will make a great cruise/race car. I am open to offers of $6000 to $6500 but will part it out if no one wants to purchase the car outright. But, I do want to give the car a chance to sell outright. The car does need new weatherstripping (I have some pieces, door seals, etc. that go with the car and some parts need to be bolted on. Other than that all of the pieces are there. If anyone is interested I will provide pictures of the car or answer ?'s...if you live close enough you are welcome to view the car and drive it. Located north of Hartford, CT. Best regards, Gordo
  3. padgett..... Asking $300.00 for the unit plus shipping. Shipping is no problem...probably in the $30.00 range. Regards, Gordon
  4. If anyone is interested I have a Teves unit for sale off of a 1990 Reatta. New unit installed about one year ago at a Buick dealership. Clean unit with little mileage on it...works fine....... email me if anyone is interested....... Best regards, Gordo
  5. Would anyone on the list happen to have a parts manual for sale for the Reatta? Think it covers 1986 to 1990 Reatta's & Riviera's. Regards, Gordon
  6. Well, think I have contacted everyone who had a parts request. If you received my private message please respond in regard to the parts requested. If they are no longer needed that is fine, but please let me know as other list members have asked for some of the same parts...but it was first come, first served. The tires from this car have less that 4K miles on them. They are GoodYear VIVA2 tires size 215-65R15....prefer to sell all four at once....if $30 bucks a piece (or per tire for you sophisticated gentry) sounds good plus the shipping please let me know if anyone wants them........ Regards, Gordon
  7. I thought it was illegal to remove an air bag? Guess it is okay if you are keeping the car until ones demise, but if you were to sell the car it would probably create problems in states that have safety inspections. Frankly, I would like to install an 88 or 89 steering column into my 1990. I do not mind side air bags, but frontal units make me a little nervous. A friend of mine that wears glasses got some strange lacerations when his air bag popped in a fender bender...and he had his seat belt on. I would think the steering colums would be the same for all Reattas sans the steering wheel. I know replacing a turn signal cancelling cam setup is a real pain with a 1990 setup... Regards, Gordon
  8. Orono...please contact me if you are still interested in the radio from the 1988 Reatta. It worked fine when I drove the car to the shop. Regards, Gordon
  9. Sorry, the center caps were claimed earlier by another list member. If they decide they do not want them I will contact you. Regards, Gordon
  10. Mark...did not receive that email. All I have are the pull straps...the covers were missing from the car. Regards, Gordon
  11. Someone had requested info on the 88 for the Reatta database. Tried to use the link provided, but kept getting an error code...site not available. So, decided to post info here. Year - 1988 VIN # 1G4EC11C9JB904233 Color - Burgundy Interior Color - Gray I have also gone over the work invoices on this car and just in 2003 the owner spent in excess of $4000 on repairs to this car. One bill alone was $2793.78!...ouch. In 2003 the following work was done: new exhaust, CV's, ECM, trans-cooler lines, new rear calipers/brakes, crank sensor, balancer, timing gear, damper, water pump, intake gasket, oil pan gasket, trans pan, valve cover gaskets, PCM, coil pack, fuel pump, control arm bushings, stabilizer links and lots more......the car was parked in a garage in January 2004 with the last expense in December 2003 of 4 new GoodYear tires. Regards, Gordon
  12. In what state on the east coast is the car located? Regards, Gordon
  13. Hello to everyone.... As promised, I began the dismantling of the Reatta today. I have actually made up large cards with members forum names on them and taped their parts requests to the cards. As I stated earlier, I will be getting back to those who were the first to request a part(s). I will provide a good description of the part and its cost. Again, please bear with me as I am not that familiar with Reatta parts prices...if I give someone a price and it is way out of line just let me know...not looking to retire on dismantling just one Reatta. I do prefer not breaking up something that consists of smaller parts...like selling a latch from a storage bin cover, or a glove box door latch...if ya need a bin cover latch, ya get the entire bin cover...really do not want to wind up with lots of parts left over cluttering up the shop....have wayyyyy too much of that stuff already. I will say this, the best way, at least in my opinion to learn about a specific car is to dismantle one if you have the chance. What really surprizes me on the Reatta is, at least to me is the flimsy construction of many of the parts/pieces. For a car that went for $25K to over $30K when new I think Detroit could have done a better job with many of the parts. As much as I hate to say it, I think many parts went down hill from 1988 to 1991...the door and dash inserts/trim are good examples. My opinion is based upon dismantling this 1988 unit and having my 1990 apart...at least from an interior parts aspect. I actually like the fabric covered windshield post covers better than the plain plastic jobs on my 1990...the 1990 dash surround is exteremly weak and flimsy, door panel inserts ditto...must have been a 'bean counter' attack. Regards, Gordon
  14. RatReatta....it is burgundy with a case of peeling clear coat...dark gray interior...at least dark compared to my 1990 gray interior.
  15. To everyone who has posted a request for parts from the 1988 Reatta. I have not started to dismantle the car, but will start on Wednesday. I have all of the posts and will get back to everyone as to the condition of the part(s) requested. There are a few people who want the same part(s)so I will go by the first posting on a request...the old first come first served routine. Also, my first posting is still accurate...the parts will be sold well below the crazy eBay prices we see. Someone commented on a few prices I quoted and they felt they were a little high. I am not familiar with parts prices on the Reatta. This is my first Reatta and I have to educate myself a little more on prices for parts. I only bought this one for a few parts I needed for my Reatta. So, if I give someone a price on a requested part, and you think it is crazy just let me know...I really have no idea what a center console goes for, or a seat...I want to be more than fair and will try to make everyone happy. Regards, Gordon
