  14. Hi Bill Was nice to meet you at Flnt, sorry we couldn;t talk longer. I had the same Estate wagon a 1988 wirh the 307 motor. A most embarassing car to drive, Busses would be me across the street from a red light. Not too bad on the Hwy at 60-65, and gas milage was about average, or below. I had seen one at the G S club meet with a 455 motor, was really a moving machine. My wagon had 134K miles on it, the exhaust manifolds had warped and quite niosy. nobody wanted to touch the repair of them, besides being very expensive. If you really want a wagon, get one of the newer 94-95 Rosdmasters with the LT-1 motor. JIm Schilf / palbuick@aol.com

Fits only the Special and Century'S I noticed at Flint that a good percentage of the 39 & 40's were missing these shields. 19. Welcome to the world of do-it-yourself. Recently saw that Krylon just introduced a spray paint can for plastic. I use Krylon spray paint on several projects with good results, like the satin black color. The paint usually cost around $5.00 a can, give it a try. Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  20. Hello Write or call Richard Gumm, 740-374-8169, Reno Ohio. He did my 1940 Buick Steering wheel. Did a great job, wheel looks great, and reasonable. As for trunk latch? which part do you need, the actual locking mechanisim or the arms, and what model do you have? Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  21. HI Marc You have gotten some excellent advice , so far. If you can do any repair and prep work your self, even getting a friend that can help, give it a try. As for macco painting, I had a 66 Skylark that I preped , removed all crome, bumpers included, and had macco paint. I came out great, took it home and two weeks later I wet sanded and buffed the paint out myself. No one could tell it was a maco paint job. At that time it only cost $ 250.00, but giving the manager who I knew a few extra $$, and the painted some extra $$, what a paint job, and no oversparay. If you are not panning a Show car this may be the best and most reasonable way to go. Good luck Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
  22. Those rubber insulators have a purpose, they keep the springs from scraping and making noise. I believe that CARS , inc has replacement ones. Try their on line catalog. Carsinc.com Jim Schlf / palbuick@aol.com
  23. ALSO, you will need to shorten throttle linkage and a new vacum. brake line Not too bad a conversion. Jim Schlf / palbuick@aol.com
  24. Buick Estate Wagons are scarce. the 59 - 60 wagons are nice big cars, but hard to find a nice one. There have been several 63-64 wagons opn E-Bay a couple months ago. I had a 63 Invicta Wagon with factory buckets, another low production car, but a great driver. Another great wagon is the 1970 a full size wagon and the last year body design, with the 455 motor what a cruised/hauler. Try stationwagon.com. nothing but wagons any make model.
  25. Hi Keith Another possibility is your turn signal switch, I know that there are two types in 1967, one for standard turn signal and one for turn signals with cornering lights. This is the switch inside your steering column. Installing cornering lights is not as simple as it looks or sounds. If you have a parts book check the part numbers. I am sure I have a new assembly for 1967 W/cornering lights. Good luck Jim Schlf / palbuick@aol.com
