  9. Hi John Its me again. Delco shock absorber part manual list the 2103 E for 39 Buick right rear, and 2103 F for the left rear. Nothing on the other number up to 1948. As for your other question, I can't answer it now, without one in front of me. The 1940's were 2105A & 2105 B. Now these numbers 2103 E & F are replacement Delco Numbers Jim Schilf
  10. The firing order should be on the intake manifold, and the spark plug covers. If you are new to Buicks, the number one piston is on the pass side bank. Ths fools all GM owners especially the chebbby owners. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  11. The plastic insulators were molded directly to the cables, full size cars from 1967 through 1970. and used a spring ring connector, the insulator was on the positive cable only. The metal heat shield usually rotted away, best thing to locate one and make a copy for yourself. JIm Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  12. check you e-mail. I have one tri-band antenna kit NEW. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  13. I had a 54 Special 2 dr. ht with the 3 speed back in the early 60's. It was my every day driver. Went through 5 - 6 Transmissions. I could change transmissions in several hours, so I know about the special trans. The Century has a bigger trans, similuar to the early roadmaster series. I have a 37 Century floor shifter and a 39 cad trans sitting in the garage, and have located another floor shifter. Thanks for all the imput about this car. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  14. Hi John Funny how we parallel each other. Back in the late fifty's , my brother and I had a 40 Merc convt. we put a 55 Nailhead of the 322 c.I. size with a 3 speed into this car, even used the tourque tube rear end. Surprised everyone who ever tried to run against it. JIm Schilf

  16. Just got my 54 Century 2 dr ht. A little rough around the edges. But it is a factory 3 speed. And most unusual 4 port holes on the front fenders. A bare bones optioned car, no power steering no power braakes. It dose have a radio and heater, and that is it. Would appreciate any information on production of this car, especially on the 4 port holes. I know the factory 3 speed is rare for the Century. The body # is 1566. The paint colors are not original. Will be needing some parts, bumper guards, window frames, trunk lid ornament, hood letters, Any help appreciated. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  17. Hi Scott I just finished restoring two Star Wars cleaners. I had the same problem with the paint color. The first one I took to Flint for the nationals, this was a completely redone unit, sold it within 1 hour after putting on table. the buyer was thrilled with the color. Just finished painting the second one, I found a perfect red paint, at the local farm store, INTERNATIONAL Machinery RED, only in Enamel, and cost 6.99 a Quart, of course the hardner and thinner were not cheap. The paint flowed beautifully, and left a nice gloss. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  18. Hi I think I have several of these latches. This is the latch with the chrome J hook, that locks top to the front windshield header. Will let you know. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  19. HI Roger I have some old linkage from a 1930 60 series Buick, I am not sure what is there, but there is a metal gas pedal, and quite a few linkage rods. Do you need these or are you looking for assembly instructions? Jim Schlf palbuick@aol.com

I thought that someone added the extra hole( Vent) Do you know if any of the were actually produced? I haven't got the car yet. It is a century with a 3 speed trans. Any more information will be helpful. JIm Schilf palbuick@aol.com

  22. Hi John I had my 40 running boards done by him about 2 years ago. Came back looking like he took them off a Buick dealers shelf, Perfect. I have his name and address around somewhere. Cost, with return shipping was around $ 800. Well worth it. The rubber surface is molded to the metal base, not glued on. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  23. Hi I recently purchased the rear harness for my 40 Buick from Y N Z , excellent . Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
  24. Hi I think I have a 56 jack lying around somewhere. I started to disassemble it to have it plated and repainted, but never got around to it . Was going to use it for my 40 Buick . The original 40 jack is a hazard, and a bumper jack usually will bend the bumper brackets. The side frame jack is the answer, I have a another, to used and save. Give me acouple of days to find it, will let you know. Jim Schilf palbuick@aol.com
