  1. Was the 37-75 in your photo owned in the Chicago area in the 1990s through 2010 ish ? I remember an article about it in either the ccca torque or maybe the clc magazine.
  2. You just missed a 1947 convertible at RMs auburn auction. It went for mid thirties. They also have what appears as a nice yellow one still for sale, asking $71k.
  3. Significantcars.com has a 1939 v16 in similar condition to the RM Auburn car. Wonder what they are asking?
  4. Agreed. But both are called replicars. Not all replicars are bad. Bad replicars are bad.
  5. Search pur sang Bugatti and Alfa. These are at least man made synthetic diamonds. Impossible for 99 percent to distinguish. Also Aston Martin is making DB5s again. 3 million sterling each. 25 all sold out. Also jaguar xkss. Not all are junk.
  6. Wait til you read what the pierce arrows brought. between $8-15k hammer
  7. FYI, there is a nice 67 black slick top (the best combo— in my opinion) that RM is selling inAuburn next week. It sold in 2016 for $26k, so we will see where the market is.
  8. My guess is that it is on its way from FL to OH as we speak. 68 is the best year, in my opinion. The windshield wipers are hidden and has the 472. I never liked the 69-70s, but I have warmed up to them.
  9. It will be fun in 20 years to pull up this thread as I am gassing up my Cadillac and laugh at all the opinions that never came to fruition.
  10. love that car. Especially as it is without side mounts.
  11. Is that a Robert “Buckey” Boudeman creation?
  12. Agree. Buy the best you can. But this starts at $1000. Might be some parts for someone.
  13. Not mine. https://www.biddergy.com/Listing/Details/160651000/1964-Lincoln-Continental-Convertible-Only-56724-Miles
  14. And the next buyer had it restored in black with grey belt line. Looks great now.
  15. If I am not mistaken, the pierce arrow has been “corrected” and is currently for sale in St Louis Mo.
  16. Individual Dietrich next to much lesser cars already happens. Seems to me that they must hold the line and become smaller, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that choice if it can be sustained. I don’t believe the classification changes in the last twenty years moved the needle at all. They seem to think that they did not change enough? Do they think that if they let in the series61 Cadillac 20 years ago they would not be in this position? I still think they would be. otherwise they should just change the mission and the name of the club to the Classic era Car Club of America. CeCCA. All cars 1917-1947
  17. I think the real problem is that you guys have seen this: and nothing really compares.
  18. I really like the car and would love it in the brochure colors. In the right colors, I believe the car could be stunning. While too tall for some, I like it for was it is. Compare it to production Coupes until 34 (i.e., 31-33) which had a similar same look/height. Compare it to this 33 v12 coupe.
  19. I would be surprised if they got half of what they are asking. Don’t think many people will value it too much more than a 740 coupe. This 840 sold twice this year (at Bonhams in January and this month at Mecum in Indianapolis) for $59k.
  20. This one made an impression on me when it was freshly restored about 15-20 years ago. Was owned by a gentleman from the Chicago area. There was a write up about it in the ccca magazine. That is when I started appreciating the difference between the 140 vs 145 inch wheel base especially on a two door model.
