  1. Yes, but it will still need all the support it can get including donations, volunteering , and recognition in the future. I always try to promote it when I can. If we want these places around in the future we need to support them. I hope that this year taught us to redouble our efforts to the things we love to do and to support the institutions that support those activities.
  2. My understanding is that three were made. J528, j525, and j440. All three of these currently have the open fenders( non skirted) on them. I believe j525 is original, and I have seen an early photo of j528, so my guess is j440 pre its current restoration. The photo below seems to be the car in your photo, but it has no identification with it. I love the hinges on these cars.
  3. How about a 36-v12 for $5k more than $18k. With a ccca senior badge. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/af19/auburn-fall/lots/r0183-1936-cadillac-series-85-seven-passenger-touring-sedan/795452 To be fair, the dealer is asking a multiple of this right now. I agree that any 36-41 seventy five is a great car and I personally prefer them to the 60 specials of the era.
  4. Its location is what allows it to exist. Ie, 90 acres within 30 minutes of a major city's airport would have to be developed by now. It is 45 minutes from the Grand Rapids airport. Very few car people say that the drive is not worth it.
  5. I think this is the first of a few videos. I am sure the PA museum will be in the next one. 😀
  6. Looks like the buyer backed out. Ebay , buy it now at $39,950. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164746560411
  7. This video is great, but seeing the cars in person is even better: https://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/

  9. Agree!! Yuk indeed. Someone on here used the label “clown car” which I have recently adopted.
  10. Not sure. The fist post says 55 year ownership - 1966. The article says 1966 is when he purchased the Patton Packard so I assume it is the car referenced in the Chicago Tribune article. I don’t have any more info than that.
  11. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1994-07-24-9407240207-story,amp.html Hope someone finishes it.
  12. That Packard was owned by a well know Packard guy in IL. I read somewhere that it was owned (allegedly) by General Patton. I would put that in a different league than this as I would be fairly confident that what work that is done is pretty good to very good. Have not seen the car and have no idea as to value.
  13. Space and the next car I purchase will be done completely( if there is such a thing). I am really looking for a flathead (36-41) Cadillac. I was not sure how reliable I could make the car for tours.
  14. I would change the add to best offer and probably accept the first real cash offer. I looked at this one and passed: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/af18/auburn-fall/lots/r0339-1929-cadillac-v-8-coupe-by-fisher/699751
  15. Especially considering this car sold for less than the asking price: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/am20/amelia-island/lots/r0041-1933-cadillac-v-12-town-sedan/841084
  16. Seems like bat is hit or miss. Clearly, it is a lot of exposure. Seems like you can get some good deals but then there are some real head scratchers. I always wonder if the bidders have seen the cars and know something (either way) that is not presented. I don’t care about movie history but I wonder how that figures into it. There was a similar 36-75 in Los Angels asking $25k on Craigslist in December.
  17. Search :manual brakes vs power brakes see what you find. You may not like the term and disagree that it makes sense but it has a common understood meaning, especially in the “old” car world.
  18. Matt, you are right. I understand manual brakes to mean unassisted in the same way I understand manual steering to mean unassisted, ie not power steering. Mechanical brakes would mean non hydraulic brakes.
