  2. I Worked for a van conversation company and we would drive one van and tow bar the second one from Indiana to the west coast. Then put the two bar in a army bag get on plane and fly back and do the same thing the next week . Bet you could not get on a plane today with the army bag.

  4. yes ford used a resistor it was on the back of the inst. panel
  5. Note you can not get the timing off as the dis. will only bolt up one way shaft key is cut off center and the timing adj. will only move 8* so thats not it . got to have spark to run use a test night and rule out each one power to the coil points making and breaking ect.
  6. .Ronnie : I would try what Jerry Van spoke about pushing the pos starter brush down while trying to start it would need 2 people to do that . Mike
  7. Well I'm not 100% sure but I think the only torque test is not a test the only test is a locked arm. test that would be amp draw 6volts locked rotor amps = torque all this was and is what the company did when it was made.
  8. Ronnie. Let's back up some the 23 that I have you turn the ign. sw. On and the starters motor clicks over slowly do you hear that?? only then can you push the starter Pedro down to get the starter to run. Mike

  10. Hi I have a 23 Buick 6volt no pressure regulator on it for 3yrs now never had any problems. Have one on my 18 D/B 12 volt no problems for over 10yrs. and no pressure regulator on it . As long as the float is set right and the needle and seat is good. M
  11. Also check the cab mounts some of them rusted real bad and would change the adjustments and also put the steering column in a bind and make it steer hard.
  12. I'm not real sure but there should be 5 wires one for the flasher 2 for the front lamps and 2 for the rear lamps the big but is you will not have brake lights incorporated in the rear lamps. Why do you not want to use the 7 wire. ??????
  13. In the later 50s I saw one in a very small in a, in board boat direct drive man was that thing fast.
  14. Wouldn't it be cool if all bidders if and when they have an auction all bidders would agree to not bid over say $500.00 for each car. Would be a wake up call for the town fathers LOL

  16. Forest rivers stopped using the Carlisle tires on their new trailer for that reason they are just junk. Someone on here called they fender optional. Thanks for your time Victoria

  19. Yes I did see it I have a 1918 touring car soon to be 100 yrs old.
  20. Hi there my fix was to use a sharp center punch (put about two rows of punch marks just where the cap has the tabs to hold it on) don't worry about rust the tabs already have the paint damaged there. Will work believe me. Mike. PS. Talking about the rim.

  22. Well there Is no doubt in my mind it was used to run the mileage back on cars in the 50s/60s. You unhooked the Speedo cable at the trans hooked the cable to the box and the next day the car had about 500 miles on it by morning.

  24. Ok here's what I have its made by Pilot universal joint company in Chicago 50 Illinois. Part number on the box is 11917 . With a ink pen it said Buick 1948- 52. Then 1940-47 40S AL the 3rd line 1942-52 50S ok 4th line 3501. I hope someone can make heads or tails of this. Mike
