Hey Earl, you need to get out more! 😄 Those steps are just how we get up and down the sidewalk here in SF. This system of parking is still used on some of our streets, and I always get a kick out of the signs that are used to indicate perpendicular parking. These signs are still used all over the city, despite the fact that the cars on the sign are clearly 30's or 40's models, split windshield and all!

1937 Buick Model 48: RESTORATION HAS BEGUN! (Photo)
neil morse replied to Gary W's topic in Buick - Pre War
Looking great, Gary. I'm so glad to see that you eliminated that hood gap problem before the end of the year -- now you can truly enjoy your New Year's celebration tonight! 😉 Thank you again for sharing this wonderful project with us. -
Congratulations! Sounds great!

I love this post. A win-win-win!

Must have something to do with the seat folding up to extend the cargo area in back. Brackets to hold the seat back when it's folded down?

Not mine -- looks pretty solid and not a bad price. Elephant ears and factory skirts (with "unobtanium" factory stainless trim) are nice touch. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1941-Buick-50-Super-Convertible/233057372290?hash=item36434d4882:g:BN8AAOSwdZBcGwpq:rk:11:pf:0

Congratulations on your new purchase! Looks like everything is there -- although someone either swapped the engine at some point or at least removed the dual carb set-up. Please keep us informed when your car arrives in Sweden. What are your plans?

I have a '41 Super sedan -- exactly the same body as yours. I have had all my doors apart, and I removed, cleaned, and lubricated the window regulators. Of course, mine were working to begin with, so getting them out was probably a lot easier than your situation. Anyhow, you can see from the attached photo where the six screws are located that hold the regulator in place.

That is great news, Ken! Sounds like you've found a treasure trove of needed parts. I see that the bondo shop had decided to permanently blend the rear fenders into the body. 😯 What were they thinking? Oh well, it doesn't matter now.

Megaphone for shouting at other drivers? 😄

Joe, your patience and attention to detail is outstanding. The work on those heater fins pretty much sums it up! Neil

Great find, Matt. I have already followed your advice for my tail/brake lights and front and rear turn indicator lights. I will definitely be picking up some of these bulbs when I do my dashboard project. Thank you.

I don't know how concerned you are with authenticity, but since none of the sound-deadening material is going to show anyway, I just decided to go with a modern product. There are many choices, and it's very easy to use. Just cut it to fit, peel off the backing, stick it down, and use a roller to get a solid bond. A lot of people have had success with this Dynamat product: https://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-10455-Self-Adhesive-Deadener-Xtreme/dp/B00020CB2S/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1542669704&sr=1-4&keywords=dynamat+sound+deadener I found this alternative on Amazon that is less expensive, but has worked very well for me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07786VRCL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=viglink24581-20 Neil

I'm no expert, but that is the way my 1941 Super 4-door is set up. -
Great job on something that looks very tricky!
