  1. Yes sir they are adjustable. once you get your interior panel off you’ll see the stops and tracks. Just don’t totally remove any bolts to save you a headache. Hopefully yours are not maxed to full height. You could also change the angle to where the top of the glass can pitch inward by adding washers to bottom track bolts. This would be last but I had success with another late GM model this way.
  2. If the bushing In the speedo head is worn out it’s time to ship out or replace the whole head. And these ain’t no disposable Mustang parts.
  3. If the spring is disconnected the pointer will not return. if you over wound the spring an extra revolution the pointer will stay at zero. If you reinstalled the springed cup a revolution before the stop detent the needle will go in reverse if you can reverse the cable rotation to test. These are just some ways that can go wrong. Be careful not to rotate the stop detent position as this affects the tension on the spring and make your reading go off cal.
  4. Perhaps you did not reinstall the cup with the spring in correct position and/or the spring got disconnected.
  5. I recommend you apply a matte or satin clear exterior grade paint over the silver argent. I’ve never seen a rattle can silver paint NOT fade to gray over time. The exposed metallic particles corrode/tarnish. Good luck
  6. WOW I believe thats a loaded XKR?! XKR's pumped out 420 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque while the cabin was quiet as a Caddy. Insane. Those Italian (Pirelli) shoes alone will cost you over a G. Very nice.
  7. Ok I respect this as a Riviera forum but I just gotta see this Jag! I had a XK8 hardtop way back - another gentlemen’s cruiser. I don’t know which is a greater money pit - Jags or Rivs? Congrats
  8. Well I should spend 50 bucks and get me some stinkin GS badges 😀 zoom
  9. Those wheels are boss. Are they over drum breaks? What model are they?
  10. So glad you’re safe. IMO any mounted low mileage tire kept in a sheltered mild climate should NOT disintegrate at 10 yrs. Absolutely unacceptable and screams substandard quality. That tire could have blown in its first year. Poo poo on the manufacturer!
  11. Well I just got a rough estimate over the phone for close to $400 USD for a basic repair. (No restoration needed) He did have apparently good advice as he stated “most new imported internal cables twist too much” which can cause bounce at lower speeds. hmmmmm Guess this is where we are these days...in the arms of imports. 😑
  12. Anyone have experience with a recent and decent speedo repair shop without wringing my wallet? Thanks Paul
  13. Indeed Im not a fan of the “federal” dash pads but I could see a dark metallic blue paint in place of that baby blue. The deluxe blue interior with floor console would really bring it to pop. If she was near me I’d be torn!
  14. Does anyone know why this cream puff is not sold? Save the baby blue $13G https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Buick-Riviera/132959308160?hash=item1ef4fe0980:g:PPUAAOSwctVc6RyK (Not my car - just curious)
  15. Love that show. There are some newer ones on Hulu as well. He can find some unique cars and dig out some laughs. 😀
  16. Looks like plenty of surface area on the back to where the use of 3M double sided foam tape should work great. Use outdoor grade. No permanent damage to your console. You may lose paint if/when removed but you could always repaint later.
  17. Aint worth nothin without the Tucson Mall 🏆 trophy. Go with the car?
  18. Maybe he'll take my '67 grill. Seems we cant give this stuff away! Talk about a niche - the Riviera
  19. Just watched it on my new "Smart TV". I could see the individual grains of rust. Great show - beautiful country!
  20. I like Astro Blue. OMG What good bones! Looks like an easy restore for a ‘65. Anyone with a shop could triple their investment? - if I only had any sort of shop...wow
  21. Man that’s sweet. I think I’m ready to swap for a boat tail. I miss my ‘73. Best ride for cruising - ever.
  22. Well I always said a ‘67 anything looks great. The epitomic year of most for design IMO. Nice work and congrats.
  23. It’s 100% Buck Rogers!
  24. I'm no transmission expert but I would assume that hole is metering fluid by design. I would want to make sure all the right stuff was put back in if you desired full switch pitch action. Thats why I asked about its history and posted the link. Perhaps a tranny expert might can chime in. The Buick Performance boys might help - in their forum.
  25. This link should provide answers: http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/SPTrans.htm Was your tranny ever overhauled?
