  1. Always loved Burl woods. Goes well with the red. I had put the real burlwood overlay in my JellyBean Riviera. Only the dash portion. Gorgeous
  2. Your dimmer switch may be corroded. If you live in a dry climate the bulbs may be covered in dust.
  3. I would say you’re half way down easy street with family support. The other half of easy is if you have a full shop and can do the body work yourself. I recommend no time limits upon yourself. Im hankering for a boat tail myself. Best of luck!
  4. Here you go, Mr. Tom. I know the legs were bare metal but I coudn't install without paint. But I still haven't installed them - lazy me! Hope this helps.
  5. Roger that. I should be home tomorrow. Will get better pics.
  6. What do you need? The bases? Motor mounts? The upper frames were interchangeable with many GM model cars... Heres my base before and after:

But no one sells a new '85 switch with sentinel option and his tails don't light with manual on. I would get a regular new switch (as its listed available) and by-pass the sentinel circuit if the tail circuit isn't shorted. .

I would believe the head and tail lamps would still be successfully manually controlled by default even with the sentinel circuit failed. This design would prevent law suits. But I don't have the wiring diagram. Was your car ever rear ended or water flooded? Was the trunk gutted and re-painted? Were after market speakers installed and someone kicked a wrong wire?
  9. On my next boat tail (bucket list) I'm going to swap the speedo's from a gorgeous '74. Can this be done?
  10. Yes sir, had the ol' gal in neutral. This balancer is tighter than a dead cats' a**. Hmmm....
  11. "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena. She drives real fast and she drives real hard,She's the terror of Colorado Boulevard. It's The Little Old Lady From Pasadena! If you see her on the strip, don't try to choose her,(Go Granny, go, Granny, go, Granny, go)You might have a go-er, but you'll never lose her;(Go Granny, go, Granny, go, Granny, go)She's gonna get a ticket now, sooner or later,'Cause she can't keep her foot off the accelerator" 😉
  12. So, I'm repainting my front pulleys and decided to check for chain slack as you did. I re-installed two balancer/pulley bolts and with a long bar between them I couldn't rotate the balancer at all. But my guns are of small caliber - so maybe I'm doing something wrong?
  13. I love SW but I do cringe when I see it applied to my ride. George Lucas was 23 when my filter (silencer) housing was created. Notice the younger ones are collectively bunching it all into a "that's from the nineteen hundreds!" Ugh
  14. On a '67 the main harness has the wiring for the option. I'll bet a '66 is the same. Meaning you may not need additional terminals. You may not have the optional contacts in the turn signal/lever "module" - behind the steering wheel. Especially if it was replaced by a PO. Lookin sharp!
  15. Imitation: the best form of flattery.
  16. Perhaps Buick gave the (un-ordered, pricy option) surplus deluxe covers to Chevrolet. The Corvette boys wonder where their checkered flag went from mine.
  17. If it weren't for the chrome, that beauty would be totally camouflaged in that desert!
  18. They do not list standard buckets. I did get custom buckets from DI and they were spot on.
  19. I’ve never seen ready made standard sets available. Should be easy to replicate for a skilled upholsterer. They are getting scarce though like most trades
  20. Congrats Your car appears to be in outstanding condition. Would like to know its history. Gorgeous wheel covers. They are getting extremely rare in top condition. Don't let them go.
  21. Yes sir they are adjustable. once you get your interior panel off you’ll see the stops and tracks. Just don’t totally remove any bolts to save you a headache. Hopefully yours are not maxed to full height. You could also change the angle to where the top of the glass can pitch inward by adding washers to bottom track bolts. This would be last but I had success with another late GM model this way.
  22. If the bushing In the speedo head is worn out it’s time to ship out or replace the whole head. And these ain’t no disposable Mustang parts.
  23. If the spring is disconnected the pointer will not return. if you over wound the spring an extra revolution the pointer will stay at zero. If you reinstalled the springed cup a revolution before the stop detent the needle will go in reverse if you can reverse the cable rotation to test. These are just some ways that can go wrong. Be careful not to rotate the stop detent position as this affects the tension on the spring and make your reading go off cal.
  24. Perhaps you did not reinstall the cup with the spring in correct position and/or the spring got disconnected.
