  1. Scroll on down to "General Motors Products" click on "Chevrolet & GMC Trucks" "Chevy truck titles for sale" mercer09 has titles for sale
  2. Why is the floor rusted through but the fenders look OK? Rotted out floors are typical for convertibles.. Top down plus rain equals "Lake Floorboards".. Engine has that "Rebuilt in the car look", if rebuilt at all.
  3. Some people use a vacuum gauge to set timing.. Maybe someone will advise to this process..
  4. Well alright Steve, you`ve got a coupe, and sounds like you have a plan. It doesn`t bother me that you are "personalizing" your car. How is the wood? I replaced just about all the wood in mine, made and installed it all myself(I`m an old carpenter). I`ve had mine together, but now apart for paint(I`m rather slow in that). Attached is a few pictures of my coupe in progress. We like pictures, so post a few of your coupe if you get the chance.. Tom
  5. Bendtsen Adapter? Since you are planning to use a 350 turbo, there is no bell housing to frame mounts, so it`s probably best to use the engine side mounts and transmission tail mount and tilt the engine so the carbs sit level. With the dual carb set-up the drivers side mount will be a tight squeeze clearing the exhaust pipe. You may also have to modify the front floorboard(hump over trans), and possibly the X-member of the frame for driveshaft clearance, you will also have to anchor the rear leaf springs at the front(they have shackles on both ends). Is you Buick a coupe or sedan? Also the 263 engine has hydraulic lifters. Tom
  6. One other thing, the `36 engine is not tilted, its pretty close to level. I also had to modify the dual intake where the carbs mount... Tom
  7. Steve, you state your plan is to use this later model engine in a `36 Buick(40 series?). I`m putting a `41 dual carb 248 in my `36 40 series coupe, you will have to co-mingle some of the parts, like front motor mount, bell housing, flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate from the original 233 engine, by replacing these parts, engine will be a direct bolt in. Engine number is just to the front of the distributor. Tom
  8. Still have the original breaker plate with the 3 pivot balls? Could be sticking.
  9. Ben, that is a picture of my `36 233, the original rocker assembly(all steel) was shot and replaced with one from a `38 248. The rocker on my `41 248 has the "poke in the hole". Also, on mine, the 90deg brass fitting, on the side of the head is the one with the smaller(restrictive) hole.
  10. Kevin, here is a picture of the way mine is plumbed..
  11. Have you checked with Dave Tacheny? He parts out `36-`41 Buicks, he is in Minnesota 763 427 3460 M-F 5-7pm central. Also in the Buick Buy/Sell section pg 1, close to the bottom of the page, "NOS and used parts 1936 GM cars", he is in Waco, Tx. I just bought some things from him, he does have a couple `36 Buick 4dr 40 series. I didn`t really look at the condition of the front fenders but both cars front fenders are on them. Like you, he is a "Newby", he may not have been back on since his posting, so send him a PM. I have his phone number also if you need it, Leonard is his name. Got any pictures of your car to post? I have a 40 series coupe. Tom
  12. Steve, is your Buick a 40 series? and where are you located?
  13. Greg, thanks for posting the pictures..
  14. Could you post some engine pictures, I`m wondering if my `36 40 series engine is the same. Do you need a newly rebuilt engine?
  15. You may have to have your shoes relined(not sure if `36 is the same). Rear seals check with OlCar Bearing 910 693 3324 George Bachleda
  16. I bought the front fenders quite a while back.. many moons.
  17. Here is a picture of my `36 40 series door handle/latch, you can see where the pin is and the piece it moves to lock/unlock. If you`ll take a picture of your handle and send it to aaca member: thehandleman@comcast.net he might have what you need. Excellent to do business with. I`ve read some of your other posts concerning your `35, do you have the 233cu in engine?
  18. 1941 pontiacs didn`t have a "bumper jack"..
  19. Question on the `34 PE, did the front door window and vent window operate independently and also roll down as a unit? Just how did that work?
  20. Any pictures to post? Cars and parts.. Where in central Texas?
