Anyone recognise and share any history , backgroundinfo

It looks to have a vertical weld/seam just in front of the rear tire, and possibly a gap in the stainless trim. Originally a 4 door. -
Yep `55 Olds.. Back in `63 i put a set of `55 Olds gauges in my `47 Chevy gauge cluster, because i went to 12V.
-
My `36 dosen`t have an inner seal, it has a cone shaped sleeve that goes in the housing before the bearing, which i think, prevents the differential oil from getting to the wheel bearing, outer seal is a felt donut. I like the idea of a Multi Mileage Lube.

Mike, your shop manual should have a Chassis Lubrication Chart. If so, one of the footnotes tells what to do. On my `36 Buick 40 series, to lube the rear wheel bearings, axle shafts have to be removed, then apply 1 tablespoon of wheel bearing lubricant to the roller bearing. This is to be done twice a year.

I agree Bloo, car is Canadian built. Has the Chevy tail lights, hood is more narrow at the front, and has different side hood trim without the Pontiac name. Fenders kind of sweep up to the hood, and are not as flat looking, and no definite side crease like the U.S. made `41 front fenders. Also no horizontal grooves in the sides of the front and rear fenders. I`ve got 4, and my brother has 2, all `41 coupes. Here is a picture of a U.S. made `41 2 dr sedan.

My Pontiac is a flat head engine. I also have a `36 Buick 40 series with a 233cu in engine. It has a down draft carburetor, and no water jacket cover. Lifter cover on the passenger side, block freeze plugs are on the drivers side.

I sure didn`t expect to see it here at Luella, Texas. Sun was completely blocked out, and for a couple minutes i could look without the glasses. What an experience.

That was always my dream car, but now too old, and too broke, to start another project. Hope to finish what i`m working on. HUH?? Seller thinks it has an automatic transmission.. -
No water jacket cover on the `36 233, my engine must be different from your 233.
-
My `36 233 has one at the back of the head, and four on the left side of the block.
