  1. Overheating.. I suspect your flat-head engine may have a water distribution tube, have you checked for one, or what`s left of one? Located in the block behind the water pump.
  2. Tail lights don`t match `48 Pontiac, looks like a `48 Chevy body and tail lights, or is that a difference of Canadian/USA built. Is the engine overhead or flathead?
  3. 1935 Pontiac rear tail light cans, also have a red lens in the bottom. Another, what`s the purpose?
  4. Head lights? Need to state which series.
  5. Bloo, tube looks to slip up into the back side of the choke housing, and anchored in place with a screw.
  6. Jon, i haven`t got my other W-1`s out of storage, wherever i stashed them. I`ll find them later today. I do have one for a `35 Chevy Master 6cyl(missing brass tag), and 2 more for`35 Pontiac 8cyl. I also have a couple `41 Pontiac carbs, not sure of the make, but think are single throated.. Thank you..
  7. Yes, tube has been cut, its only about 5" long, not long enough to reach the hole. Manifold plate has a few little holes rusted thru.
  8. Say Joe, is there a condenser and vac advance on your distributor? Or just not in the picture. Tom
  9. My engine number is(i guess an upper case i is a 1) 10232, so 298s is the original carburetor? It has an Climate Controlled automatic choke, with what looks like a flexible cable housing that has been cut. Did this originally pick up heat from the backside of the exhaust manifold? This is from a Canadian built Pontiac, its missing the metal top cover, i have a Chevy W-1 i could rob the cover from. Not so sure about the flex housing.
  10. The guy has not been back on site since Aug 15, and made no comment on this posting. He made a statement on his other posting, that he`d take some better pictures.. Must have "gerfot".. Looks like the deck lid is inside the trunk. Tail light lens and bezels are the same as `36 Buick and later `36 Pontiac, no hood in sight.
  11. I have a Carter W-1 single throat carburetor, would like to know which car/engine it is for. Brass tag #298S Possibly Oldsmobile or Pontiac?
  12. Is that a Dodge Ram hood ornament i`m seeing?
  13. The Frankmobile for 4 months, was changed back to the Wienermobile on September 21.. https://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2023-09-21/hot-dog-the-wienermobile-is-back
  14. inline 6 or V-8? OK i see now 6cyl.
  15. My best guess, `39 Buick, `38 Chevy or Oldsmobile 8 cyl, and `37 Dodge.
  16. I thought it might be a Harrison, but no tag. Hoping someone could ID..
  17. In the early `50s my mother got her drivers license, shortly after she went to the grocery store at night. On her way home she got her first and only ticket, it was for not dimming the lights. She didn`t even know about a dimmer switch, or the high beam indicator. My dad never let her forget about her first ticket.
  18. I think the problem is "inconsiderate" drivers that just won`t dim their lights. I always have to direct my vision towards the white line between the road surface, and the shoulder. Makes me think of the song, "I wear my sunglasses at night".
  19. Excellent Cudaman(Red Green), thank you for the info on the 6 way seat track, something i`d never seen before..
  20. I have these bucket seats that were in a `35 Pontiac coupe drag car. Pretty sure they are Plymouth/Dodge 60s/70s. Passenger side has the manual track, moves forward/backward, drivers side track also manual, has 2 levers, one to move seat forward/backward, the other lever, maybe tilts the seat. Any help as to what they were from originally?
  21. My guess is a 1949 Chevy, top side of upper grille bar should have "Chevrolet" stamped in it.
