  1. Thanks Bill for the info and I hope you follow through with the ad for the Bugle. You top looks good. I purchased a tan Hartz canvas top. I have a good idea on how it goes on, was just looking for some "make sure you do this first" tips and maybe "use contact cement here" remarks. I have a quality air staple gun for upholstery. Matt
  2. Post a picture with a measuring device next to it. Thickness, width, length and height . I may have something here or may know where to get it. Do you have the part number?
  3. Looking for tips and possibly pictures anyone might have of a convertible top install on one of these 40's convertibles. Top pad placement, etc. thanks in advance Matt
  4. I have purchased a convertible top kit and pad kit from EZ On Tops. They will not provide instructions for the kit as they say this is a job for a trimmer. I will agree, but I have restored everything else on my 47' Roadmaster convertible and am not going to give up and have someone else do the top. Any help or tips/pictures of an installation greatly appreciated. Thanks Matt
  5. Yes. Saw it and was afraid it was going to fall on one of the cars over there. One reason I don't really appreciate drones at car venues. Just takes a split second and CRASH!
  6. I believe they are. Can someone else check this?
  7. All Roadmasters had a 320 ci motor. That is why the front fenders and hood were longer to accomodate the larger engine. Supers all had the smaller 248 ci. The motor mounts are different on a 48'. Dynaflows were An option in 48'. The manual transmission should fit with an engine that had a dynaflow, but not the other way around without modufications
  8. Left around 7:30 am, after saying some good-byes and rechecking everything out. Home by 9:15. Ran into a wicked downpouring of rain, but wasn't raining when pulled in at the house. Car is cleaned up and back in the garage. Had to shop vac a little water from the carpet at the doors. She will not go out again when rain in forcast until top is finished and hydraulics working. Hope everyone arrives safely at home. Matt
  9. I would also like to say "Thank You" for a wonderful and unforgetable experience. Bravo!
  10. Have a friend that needs a flywheel for his 56' 322 nailhead with dynaflow. Any help appreciated. thanks Matt
  11. I am very impressed with this meet. A whole lot has been put into this, not saying others have not been equally planned. This is my first meet with the BCA and am very glad it was so close to home. Here is the little lady "La Trujis" on the showfield today.
  12. She was driven today! Wow! What a complex Mr. Bulgari has put together.
  13. Willie we are a at the best western lehigh vallley
  14. Tire replaced on trailer. New tube on Buick. Almost back on track
  15. Holy Christ! Flat tire on the trailer this morning and low tire on the Buick. Pulled both tires. Replacing trailer tire and patching tube. Good thing I woke up early.........still have to pack up tool, etc.
  16. I actually bought the matting at Ace Hardware. I was in the checkout line and saw some rolls of carpet protectors and hallway type plastic floor ccvering. The black mat just looked right. Will post pictures when get trailer loaded and/or get to Allentown
  17. Still burning the midnight oil tring to compete as much as possible. Advanced the timing a bit and out for a 40 min ride around town to our Scranton Region AACA clubhouse to show off the car a bit. Tuesday nights are our "garage nights" for the club members who have issues with their cars and either need help repairing or have no idea how to repair. We have a full service garage with 4 post lift, tools, etc. funny how the 47' brought all work to a standstill! drove back home and how she is outside the garage and doesn't want to start. I an sti fiddli g with things on the car. Did not get the fender skirts completed, so they will be stayin home. Pray for NO rain as she doesn't have a top. back to work
  18. Linkage adjusted and out for another spin. Nice having 3rd gear! Still having a little bit of a timing issue, but hope to resolve tomorrow.
  19. Didn't someone throw him in the trunk to bring him to Allentown?
  20. Mad dash for the finish almost complete. First in order was picking up new sway bar link kits for the front on the way home from work. Adjusted the linkage per the shop manual and SHAZAM! We now have third gear! I Lost a bit of time this afternoon to heavy rain and potential tornado nearby. Sat with wifey and kids in the basement. After rain decided it was done and sun came back out, took her out for a spin. will be looking for a new set of gears for the rear later. Sounds like she is wound up tight around 55. Has a lot of pedal left but didn't want to push her. Seems having the same problem Brian was with small backfiring while pulling a hill under accelration. Will recheck timing again tomorrow. Will be trailering her to Allentown. She is driveable, but the tires are a little on the old side and had so much other stuff on my mind, I didn't order new ones. Buffed the paint again all the way around the car. Finally had her out in the light of day after the rain and could see a lot better. hope to have some conversations with Adam and whomever else that wants to talk painting/buffing. I still feel I can do better. Maybe just not using correct materials. Washed car and wiped her down. Vacuumed out the interior and kinda mounted the front license plate. Cleaned/wiped off the seats and door panels with leather cleaner/conditioner. and last but not least, installed the glove box. I am whooped!
  21. Finished up a lot of small items that have been pending for a llng while. bumpers are finally correctly hung with all of the fasteners. matting installed on the "running boards" and stainless strip installed. finished running radio antenna wire and installing rest of windshield trim correctly added some weatherstrip to passenger side door. buffed paint for an hour or so. Got about 8 hours work in this morning. still have to adjust the linkage and see i we get third gear back
  22. Last night had the 47' out to a cruise in. Her first stretch of the legs. She did ok. A little linkage adjustment and need to do some other checks. She sure drew a crowd. Noone had ever seen her! My son thought it so cool to ride in the convertible.
