She went to her first cruise un tonight. Was rough shifting into reverse and second, so I thought linkage adjustment. After a few up and downshifts, first and second are pretty good. Seems like shifts into 3rd but no output. Am livid at this moment. -
The wiring you are referring to on the carb seitch would have been for starting the engine with the accelerator.

Final countdown and crunch time. She gets another buffing tomorrow. Still have a couple hours of fastener work here and there. Brake light switch not working. Will address that tomorrow. All dash lights work, still have a little issue with drivers front turn signal. Might be wiring at flasher. -
Glad to see you made it to the forum. Looking forward to your progress. Matt

Nice find and welcome. That paint will probably clean right up for the most part with a little elbow grease. Hope to see more of your car in the Me and My Buick section of the forum. Matt

Installed four "more" brand new wheel cylinders tonight. Whenever I did the chassis, all new brake components were installed and never even had a drop of fluid in them. One of the cups in the wheel cylinder on the drivers side blew a semi circle hole right in the middle of the cup. i have never seen anything like it and hope I never see that again. Brakes are now bled out again. I now have turn signals front and back, will check brake lights tomorrow. Ran the engine for about 20 min and then checked/adjusted valve lash. Sounds very smooth and seems to have a lot of power. clutch seemed like it was rattling. Will adjust tomorrow. good night to my Buick bretheren Matt -

Ok. Here is the latest......we t to crank over the car and the starter would just spin. Pulled starter off and took to local rebuilder with a spare in a box. Wanted him to rebuild both to have a spare. Was only able to salvage one out of the two. Lost two days waiting. got the starter back and cranked motor over until had fuel at carb. Surprising enough, it didn't take long to get fuel at the carb filter. Tried several times cranking yesterday to no avail. When assembling the motor during rebuild, I had several people helping. NEVER AGAIN will I let someone help with timing chain installation. It was all hosed up. Was blowing out if the carb. Pulled radiator back out last night. Tonight pulled off the harmonic balancer and cover and found this. -
Really nice work. I enjoy your thread.

Got the strip when I purchased the top. Any top supplier should be able to provide the strips, front and back. -

So, Saturday was a wash for working on the car. Had an incredible time with my son getting him ready for his first solo week at Boy Scout summer camp. Took him to camp and helped the Troop get everything set up. Today, started at 7:00 am. All of the wiring is connected. I now have taillights, headlights, maplight and radio working. Finished wiring in the courtesy lights on the seat. And, installed the drivers door panel. Need to finish attaching to the door No crank yet and I think I know why. Will dive back in tomorrow after work. Good night Matt -
Anyone who has one of the 46'-48' series convertibles, could I get you guys to take pictures of how the top pads are installed and the top from various angles. thanks to everyone matt
