  1. In this picture, is the oil line coming from the bottom to the oil filter housing
  2. Thanks. Here are some pictures o what I have. One port is packed with a yellow wad to keep from leaking. (Oil comes out when cranking over motor. You can see the other oil line I hooked up next to it in another open port.
  3. Oil line dilema......since I am trying to finish everything up and start her within the next week, I realized I donmt know where all of the oil lines run from the block to the external filter and so on. Anyone got some pictures? I have two open holes on the bottom of the block near the oil pan. One has a 90 degree fitting in it and the other was just open and threaded. I hope to bend the fuel line that runs from fuel pump to carb tomorrow. Temp gauge and oil pressure gage are hooked up in their respective ports.
  4. Have so much to do that I can pick somethin different every night! Worked on a piece of stainless that goes around the tub (passenger side). A little more massaging and it will be ready to be put on.
  5. Really jumping into it now! Back on track and humming along.
  6. Might I add that a nice coating of wax on the freshly cleaned and dried chrome will help prevent oxidation from occuring so quickly
  7. Fuel line is ran. Funny how I sometimes forget I have a whole other car to look at. Doing a lot of odds and ends stuff trying to free up carpet space. I have manuals, soldering irons, drawings, trim pieces all over. Will try to tidy things up this weekend.
  8. Getting back in the groove again. Have to set one more piece of glass in passenger side door and done with windows. Most of the under dash wiring is complete. Have to finish turn signal wiring to column and horn button. Also need to wire clock. Got my new fuel line and was wondering if someone can take a couple pictures of how it runs through and against the frame.
  9. One great recommendation for Jim. He had a tranny on the shelf rebuilt, shipped it and I sent him my core back. Quick service and tranny works flawlessly. 56' special Matt
  10. Take those bolts out before dropping the tranny down for removal. I had to jack the unit back up to take them out, then took the lower ones out after i lowered the jack and tilted it. Tranny jack and another for supporting motor will make job easier
  11. Yes, dash and steering wheel scream 48' and the Super emblem definately is not long enough to say Roadmaster. Either way is a Buickful car!
  12. If that is 'your' radio, why not remove it and send it to be repaired at one of the many relair shops available. Depending upon location, members should be able to point you to a reputable shop
  13. Mr. Earl will be drooling in his cereal this morning.
  14. Guess I'm a little burnt out. Wiring is half finished under the dash. Did a little magic on the steering wheel until I can have the whole thing redone.
  15. Take some pictures and send them to tmeetz@aol.com Custom Plating Specialist. He will get you a quote by email. Thay just did all the chrome on my 47' roadmaster convertible Matt
  16. More stainless repair and installation. Rear fender reflectors installed. Drivers side pretty much complete. Working with the fender skirt on the drivers side. Rear bumper fits nicely.
  17. Every week, I turn over the motor with the starter, just to keep everything freed up until that glorious moment of "combustion". I have been manually engaging the solenoid on the starter with a prybar. I guess, I must have pushed too far at one moment or another and the starter stayed spinning. I pulled the starter and found a clip had came off of the solenoid shaft that holds back the contacting "copper" ring washer. Put it back on and works like a charm. Got the last of my goodies today. New radiator hoses, fan belt, correct battery cables and these.....
