  2. Hi there! GREAT NEWS! I was in vacation with my wife and when we were back at home, I checked the mailbox and it was there! My membership of BCA has arrived!!!!!!!!! Now I'm part of and I'm glad to be, I already have my first "Buick Bugle" in my hands. Hope sometime I can go to some meeting in some trip to US. Related to the car, after one month and a half looking for the front wheel bearings I finally found them, I got them from three different places, but I have them all!!! I started to install the right side suspension and it's almost done, now it's my work time and I don't have the time to do nothing with the car, next friday begin my days off and I'll continue. When I removed the RH front suspension coil I realized a 2,5 inches from the bottom par of the coil was missed! When I can get some new, I´ll replace it, but now I'll put it to work some more time... Front brakes and master cylinder are ready to install as well, but brakes lines are missing so I'll have to buy the pipes, tees, fittings, shape them and install but it's another story... step by step. In this days I'll post some more pictures.
  3. Hey there! after a lot of months with no posting, here I'm with a few things more. Finally the steering whell is ready (almost, only the horn ring left to complete it) I had a lot of delays due a primer that wasn´t the right one and every time I sprayed the paint, it cracked and again. I went to the paint shop and asked for some help and they recommend me another primer that was perfect. The radio "B-U-I-C-K" buttons are also ready to go... Now I'm dealing with the front suspension, front brakes, etc. Last week I left the brake master cylinder in a shop and now I have it overhauled. Next step is check all the pedal mechanism bushings, clean them, lubricate and if it's ok, reinstall, the, begin with the piping arrangement. First, I'll make a "dummies" pipes and go to the shop to make them new. I have not the old ones, too bad... Well, it's all for now.

  5. Hi how are you? My name is Nahuel I'm working in a '47 Super convertible restoration. If there´s no problem could you take a couple of detailed photos of both radio knobs and the five B-U-I-C-K radio stations buttons? If they're nice and if it's ok for you, I'm willing to pay the u$s100, but just for the knobs, the metallic selectors behind the knobs, the five BUICK buttons and the speaker rubber seal. That way you get all the money and you can sell the remaining parts of the radio. I Propose this because I live in Argentina and I can't bring all the entire radio. Anyway, I have a PO Box in Miami where I send all the items I'm getting. I can pay by PayPal. Well, think about and you tell me. Thank you!!!

Here a few of the hydraulic pump Here my home-made paint cabin in the backyard, that's only the PVC tubes structure, then I "wrap" it whith transparent nylon (like the serie Dexter) Last but not least the steering wheel before and after the epoxy putty, now I'm sanding it. Well, after a long time with no news this is the little advance in the restoration. Greetings!
  9. Here the turn signal lever mechanism disassembly: The home-made sand-blaster I did with the BBQ place (the grill is removed). A wooden front, a pair of long gloves, a glass and a sand blaster gun. It's not as powerful as an industrial one, but by now, it's ok for me. Note: never forget to clean all the sand after use it, otherwise next BBQ will be a disaster! One more pic of the front of the radio. It's upside-down

Finally after the cleaning and painting I sent it to the shop and here I have it completely functional, besides I can plug a Mp3 reproducer and listen my music... Note the turn indicator with discolored arrow, many years of sunlight. I "fix" it painting it with a green text marker. Both indicators seem to be ok.

  12. Hello again! After several months no posting, here I'm again. Nothig big to tell, finally the gear box spare parts never were found and I'm just like the beginning. I sent the radio to the shop an it´s alive again. Soon I'll post a clip to listen how it works. Now I've just restored the top hydraulic pump, I don´t remember the brand, but it's somethig like "HydrElectric". The issue is when I connected the motor (with the pump removed) to 6V, it spined a little slow. Obviusly when Installed the pump module to the motor, it spinned slowly also. I checked the rotor for stuck but its free to rotate. Some days later I connected to 12V and it goes really fine and spines great. The motorpump is phisically identical to the one of the Buick shop manual. When I bought the car, there were two motorpumps to choose form the place where the car was guarded. The owner had also a Cehvy 58 Impala convertible and I´m affraid that I choosed the wrong motorpump, altough I saw many pics of the pump, and those pumps were like I picked. Even Matt, sent me pics of the motorpump fo his 47 and it was the same... My questions are: Is there a chance that the Chevy 58 was equipped whit that same pump? Does someone knows if the Buicks were equiped with other brands of motorpumps? I really don't know if I have to return my actual pump and take the one that I left in that place Another possibility is that someone changed and adapted the rotor for another 12V rotor. Is this possibly? Like always, I really apreciate the help you can give me. Thanks!
  13. Hello! I don't know if you have done this already but you can check the correct position of the spark plug wires in the distributor cap (or in the differents spark plugs in the cilinder head). Pay attention also to the direction of rotation of the distributor bacause you could put the wires in the correct firing order, but in opossite direction (clockwise when they could be installed anti-clockwise or vice-versa) Hope it be useful to you and never give up!
