  1. I have always thought that the MEA rocking crate magneto was a German make sold as an after market replacement. You do see them advertised in pre 1915 literature.

  8. It is neither 1917 or 18 , It is 1919 or 20 , makes a big difference in the value. There are a lot of Mitchells around, I have four. it's amazing how they keep turning up. I was watching the ebay auction and wondered how it was identified, now I know. Appears to be in very good order , I could use some of the parts and would happily bid if only it were closer. Perhaps the winning bidder might like to sell me some bits??? NOEL

  15. Hi Guys, You all have some great ideas , My own personal method mounting tires is to find a modern wheel and tire which will fit [ when flat ] into the new tire to be mounted. When the modern wheel is then inflated it will stretch the new tire and will literally fall onto the new rim. I usually leave it overnight. This works well for both new and second hand tires which often have shrunk undersize. Sure beats fighting with them.
