Looks like a Star

We knew it definately wasn't Mitchell but now that I can see better photo detail here, especially those headlights, it has to be Studebaker abt 1920

With the Spare mounting like that, Could be Templar......Noel

It is an Overland, Most likely a 1912 model 60

HI GUYS, I KNOW THIS ITEM WAS A FEW YEARS AGO BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD ANSWER THE QUESTION OF THE DIRECTION OF THE JUMP SEATS. THE 1910 MITCHELL MODEL S [ WHICH THIS CAR IS INDEED ] HAD JUMP SEATS WHICH WERE MOUNTED UPRIGHT ON A POST. THIS POST ALLOWED THE SEAT TO FACE EACH OTHER OR FACE FORWARD DEPENDING ON THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PASSENGERS. WHEN NOT IN USE THE CUSHION WOULD FOLD UP TO ALLOW ADDITIONAL ROOM AND BE STORED UPRIGHT FACING EACH OTHER. YOURS IN RUST........NOEL

It is absolutely not Mitchell, It is not Buick , other than a similarity with the windscreen, there are no other Buick features, It is highly unlikely to be Hudson as the car in question does not wear the three sided Hudson hubcap feature. Noel

Hi Guys, Thought I would throw a few more thoughts into the fray. I had a look at the listing on the Surrey Vintage Vehicle society site as suggested by Sunroofcord and here it says the photo was sent in by David Hindle who found it on his newly purchased property in france. No big deal but David identifies it as Peugeot and presumably David was in an ideal position to read the hub caps. Of course it is not a Peugeot but is is a Fiat?? How likely would it be that an Italian Fiat be found in France sporting a very nice pair of American Balcrank Bumpers?? Then of course what has happened to it's Radiator Badge?? This car shows no evidence that it ever was fitted with one. Happy Motoring............Noel

I Believe this is a 1912 Mitchell, the big four, not the little four cyl model. Noel

That picture has been around for a long time, from memory I think it was one of the set up pictures featured in one of the Asine Alley series in the early Horseless Carriage Gazettes hence the gun toting farmer in the background. Easy to Check up I guess.. Noel

DEFINATELY NOT KRIT. WE'VE ALREADY TRIED A CLOSEUP OF THE RADIATOR BUT THE ORIGINAL IS JUST THAT MUCH OUT OF FOCUS TO LOSE CLARITY. THANKS...NOEL

Could well not be Gardner, that was my first impression when seeing the picture. My question is however " How can one discount identification because the bumper bar may not be factory spec " ?? Bumpers could have been altered by any number of successive owners for any number of reasons , indeed , could have been ordered with a double bumper rather than a single. Surely there are other defining features we can use for identification. Beswt Wishes.....noel

OVERLAND RADIATORS WERE BUILT BY KINWOOD, DEFINATELY NOT OVERLAND BRISCOE MANUFACTURING MADE RADIATORS TO A NUMBER OF COMPANYS, IF YOU CAN DIG UP A LIST OF THOSE COMPANYS SUPPLIED THEN YOU WOULD HAVE A GOOD START TO ID. THIS ONE. THIS RADIATOR LOOOKS VERY SIMILAR TO THE EARLY PAIGE, [ I'M CHASING AN EARLY PAIGE RADIATOR BY THE WAY ] FULL ELIPTIC SPRINGS WERE STILL IN USE IN THE LATER TEENS THOUGH RARELY. THE 1917 BRISCOE USED FULL ELIPTICS ALL ROUND. ALL THE BEST.....NOEL

NO NEED TO RING KING JOHN IVAN, THE CAR IS A 1918 MITCHELL 2 PASSENGER ROADSTER. NOEL
