What car brought you home from the hospital when you were born?

I'm sorry I was very young and don't remember -
Don't know about Buicks but in Lucas equipped cars it has been know for years that all these electrical items contain and are opperated by smoke If the part cracks it lets the smoke escape and the unit without it's required smoke fails .......... I think this was first discovered by the guy that designed the cargo door on the DC-10

My guess is that the problem shown may be in one or two more of your set Measure the ring groove at several points around the piston Egge's pistons maybe OK but be prepaired to measure the skirts for flat spots This means a surface plate and dial indicator Pistons are cam ground so don't let that worry you it's flat spots you look for When there correct it's good but when not you may have problems And get the set balanced if weight difference bothers you

I have spent 30 years of my life with these cars. This car looks to be homemade. Might I suggest that people interested in Dixi consult : Google Translate

Mox-nix sticks Unless your in East Germany ....then Marx-nix sticks They don't work very good 'At Speed" AND IF YOU PULL ON THEM TO LOOK YOU'LL BREAK THEM!!!

They run on the wood gas in the smoke..... pretty poor fuel and requires a lot of service .... lifting the head and cleaning, BUT works sortta After the war the French ''converted'' many cars into trucks to get gasoline as gas for cars was more restricted. some were made into wonderful little woody wagons

I've spentmy life chasing down stuff. Doesn't matter ''what it's worth'' or if I can buy it ....... It's just the chase Last car I found was a 1935 Simca/Fiat 3 window coupe. It was a Christmas present for my wife last year..... Car arrived a bit apart. Got the bits out of the inside to find only a little surface rust...... and good tight woodwork. It actually has 16,000 mlles from new. These little 6CV coupes are very rare and cute like a baby 34 Ford. I c alled the previous owner he said he'd gotten it from the widow of the original owner in Paris in the 70's Sometimes you get lucky.

I've done complete brake rebuild many many times...... some ideas NAPA has the hardlines in rolls. You cut what you need and roll it out on the floor to get the bends out of it There are several good tube benders on the market. I grease the tubes outside. Makes the bending much easier Then clean up with brake cleaner when done I use AN/Nuts and sleeves and AN fittings to connect everything You can get any good hose shop to make teflon lines and use shrink tube to cover the stainless steel outside. Don't tell them they are brake lines. Most shops are afraid the make ''brake lines'' I have had problems with 'relined' cylinders. Suggest buying new or NOS cylinders Lester Harris may have some 775 267 2241 he's a great guy I prefer a rock hard pedal and use real brake fluid. Changing it once per year rather than "silly-cone" We were sponsered racing by a company that sold the stuff. They agreed to let us run real fluid as long a we ran their sticker and told no one So please don't post all the garbage about how wonderful the stuff is. I know it doesn't eat paint..... it also collects air! I'd rather stop well and take care necessary not to spill it all over  I use LOCTITE PST on the fittings NO TEFLON TAPE! Steel or Stainless AN stuff. NO ALUMINUM Hope that helps

Yup They are mostly used in Europe But I have seen NOS units at Swapmeets in the US too. I think people thought they were a good idea and imported them to sell Stateside I remember a case of ornate signals including a counter top advertising set on a market in Az once ...... should have brought the entire package I think I might have a set saying " made in USA'' on them But finding them in the moving mess might take time

1930 Ford AA 1 ton original running truck - Peru, IN

Thank you for the video. It's wonderful!! But listening to you breath hard walking around is scary..... Please take care of yourself. We'd all like to see more of these collections in the best of America. -
Frank I would second the 'modify hub' suggestion I bet hubs are easier to find than NOS original bearings Please make sure the new bearings are not going to fade away too in a few years. I designed some custom connecting rods a few years to fit an insert that went obsolete eventually...... not good. We ended up going back and re-designing the rods using Dodge Colt bearings. This is a ''World car'' and has given us more time for now. You don't want this to happen to you.

Poland has traditional craftsmen .... many do work at home after their day jobs. I can get high standard items made at a reasonable price and these guys know 'close don't work' The general economy isn't really good and everyone is happy to have the extra work. -
I mentioned it because I remember seeing one as a kid and thinking just how dumb it was

Problem is these Idiots actually think your going your actually going to buy their junk ....... if you find away to 'cut them out' they will be back.

Rumble seat option?

I like to use diesel fuel Put some in the plug holes then start rocking the crank forward and back It will break loose. Change the oil before starting. Please drain the fuel tank AND a little top oil in the fresh fuel I don't use quarts as there is no real reason for extra inches of fluid standing atop the piston.

BMW tried this on a 6 cylinder engine. Prewar They couldn't keep the valve-discs clean enough to work for long

Goes without saying that, as in hotel stars in Albania, some of the people posting condition/grade are drinking their bath water......
