  1. Rust was installed in the Alfa factory and here you can see just how well it survived
  2. Both Indian and Harley made trikes that a mechanic could tow while returning a customers car. Once delivered the bike was ridden back to the shop
  3. There are more collections like this but fewer each year. Many years ago I figured out I could sell most of my stuff and never see the floor. But like a lot of guys I've never really tested that realization. I think it was the same case for Lee. We talked about people asking to buy stuff. Shared many stories back and forth. Lee sold a few things over the years. But not much over the last years of his life. It's interesting to read the comments here. Things should be remembered. There is always someone with more stuff than you have. Stuff is just stuff. It's not about dieing with the most toys. It about living with history.
  4. Your correct! There is just too much stuff but I'll not be there...... don't want to see a life's collection broken
  5. ......................................................
  6. I knew Lee for 30+ years. He was the guy you called to empty you barn or garage of stuff. As a ''junkman'' he was pretty smart and took a lot of home to store. His history was a little off some times but he was a great guy to just sit and talk with (most I tried to listen) Don't look for any deals. Lots of heavy hitters knew the stuff. Like some auctions it is more about the chance to own something unique than ''get a deal'' I've not see him in years. Even so it is sad he is gone. One less ''Junkman'' in our hobby ....... I will miss his stories and yes even his BS too. I am sure he'll be laughing at the prices this stuff brings. Lee from now on they will always start on the first kick Old Friend.......
  7. Mercer and Rudge Multi both had metal to metal clutches
  8. I went to pick-up a antique counter display cabinet The fellow sold me two more. Then he saws ''Anyone you know like co-karts?'' Takes me into his garage and shows me this: An NOS 1/4 midget!

    Stone Guard Mesh

1984 I beeded mesh for a car. I found a company that had all kinds! I may still have their catalog and will try to find it. This was pre-internet I got their contact at the West Tech LA Show Perhaps a ''Google'' might help The had Stainless, and plated/non-plated steel Also they had a page stating how much air was blocked by each kind/size of mesh
  10. Are you looking for Riv-nuts? Lowes has them.....
  11. Rental folks are nice but scooters are expensive if you need one for the whole meet Getting your own scooter approved isn't a problem. Next time that's what I think I'd do. You can find scooters at thrift stores and you'd come out money ahead I am afraid that Hershey is going to be wet. Thank god it's paved!! Scooter is better than a golf cart ...... your not in anyones way and there isn't the problem of those non-handicapped tempted to ride along Most folks are kind and ''give way'' buut be careful as some people are so busy buying or selling they just dont see you. Your friend needs to be defensive driver. I'm sure you'll have a good time......
  12. Like I told you before there are more 'Tire kickers' that buyers. Honest I wish you luck but be ready for a ton-0-BS and time wasting. In the end I had the luck of a friend telling another friend that didn't know it was for sale ........ he ran over and brought it in a heartbeat. I wish my friend wanted a coupe I'd tell him about yours Honest
  13. I own two 80 Deluxe D-T trucks a pick-up and delivery van. I know guys do want these kond of trucks from the response I get when they see mine. The very best way to get this sold here is with photos and your price
  14. Thank you both Guys, That's what it says on the dial. Mark it has a vacuum gauge on it which couldbe used for Mag testing but it is really a coil/battery system tester What I am really looking for is "How it works" and production dates. I was also looking to see if anyone out there had one too Some of the things we have are patient models. Perhaps that's what this is. You won't see mine on EBay ........ I'm not looking for value, only info.
  15. For many years I have collected old Automobile tools and test equipment I think this is the oldest analyzer I have. I found it in a scrap yard 40 years ago Does anyone here have any info on this? It has a tube and scale for vacuum and six spark plug leads. The dial is paper and looks hand written (faded ink) I've been unpacking and I suspect I'll find more junk like this.
  16. Some things are a given! Running on old gas is just stupid.
  17. I have pistons and bearings I-4 and some V-4 no V-6 These are 50's thru eartly 70's There are crates of parts 4x3x3 foot 30+ crates just like these all NOS all in Poland
  18. Abe Please warm up the engine and then adjust the mixture, idle screw, and timing for highest vaccum! Save yourself a lot lo trouble and drive it some AFTER a couple hundred miles repeat the test and adjustments
  19. Cleabn the guck off that white little door knob looking thing
  20. I used to drive in Italy, a thousand miles, every year! With a police escort and mostly over 100mph! Take a AAA card and cel phone. AND HAVE FUN:)
  21. AND The Japanese kids know how to find the Pomona Swapmeet
  22. It is easy....... build a simple cardboard model. Use 'Acorn' pins for pivot points..... This makes it fully adjustable, You can move it within a pair of lines on paper representing the bore. Use a 360 degree protractor as the crankshaft. You will see that the longer rod you get TDC=BDC .... They are never equal BDC is always longer.... When you get closest to equal that's the correct C-C If you make pistons you can move the pin up in the piston. Make them 3 ring. Less drag less heat. Reduced oil temps! You can also reduce the skirt lenght since the long rod reduces skirt pressure Have billet rods made that use a common bearing..... And make a smaller wrist pin..... smaller pin less weight less mass About rings .... Thick rings doin seal as well as thin! Take a playing card set it on edge on the short side and lift one edge off the table ..... now the long side ...lift the same distance SEE MORE AIR Now if we could only explain the stock markket so easy!
  23. Here's one made in Germany for use in the USA I have an NOS pair of these. Other styles packed away. If you need them open cup your hand and smack it with the Trafficator open side into your hand .... Piviot toward the top. The opens all styles without busting the over center device. I can also tell you they don't want to open over 100mph:cool: I've never counted my collection but guess it's around 100 pairs I suspect there are people still using the term 'Trafficator'' as there are still those using the term ''NEARSIDE''
  24. I sold our 32 roadster project before leaving the US a few years ago. I can tell you I have never had so many dreamers, tire kickers, and time wasters. In the end I sold it to a freind with kids. So it is a family project now. Just be ready for a ton of jerks. It was worse than selling my Cord Sportsman!
