Lee, additional pictures would help you in the sale of your car. One of each corner of the car, each side of the engine and an interior picture or two.
-
Size and location would be helpful for your sale.

*SOLD* 22-foot enclosed trailer $9500
3makes replied to Matt Harwood's topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
Height at the rear door would be of interest, particularly if you are looking for a trailer for a brass era car and carrying it with the top up. -

1935Packard, maybe it would be easier to find new neighbors and a new wife. -

If I were you, I would have named the club and the individual that asked for your resignation. That person doesn't deserve the respect of the title they held or hold. -
Go to the Franklin section in the Buy and Sell area of the main Forums on the main page and ask in it.

What is your favorite old car related destination/event?
3makes replied to CChinn's topic in General Discussion
Back in 1994, there was a group of members of the HCCA North Jersey and Autoneers Regions that put on a brass era meet including a tour and flea market in the Duchess County region of New York. It would certainly be great if that activity could be repeated. I'd surely attend again as would many of those that did attend. -

During WWII, as a 10 year old, I was driving a Model A flat bed truck with a load of loose hay on the bed. I went around the corner from a side street onto US Rt. 1 and dumped the whole load. The police came to help me and my dad, who had been following me on a tractor re-load the hay. My dad got the ticket and I never worked so hard for the rest of the summer and fall season or at least until school started. The cop said I was too young to be driving and he didn't want to spoil my record when I was old enough to drive. On the farm, I'd been driving tractors for a year.

I can't tell the make of car, but it was registered to Charles Gilbert of Stepney Depot or Easton, Ct. from 1906 through 1909. I can't tell the make of car, but it was registered to Charles Gilbert of Stepney Depot or Easton, Ct. from 1906 through 1909. -
Look at Franklin factory drawing #32169. Post your needs on the HHFC website and watch eBay. There are two lengths of mounting arm. You want the short arm. Also make sure you get the mounting bolt to fasten the gascolator to the vacuum tank. The gascolator was made by Alemite, Bassick and Stewart. They succeeded each other. The gascolators are all the same.

No. I have successfully recovered the original wire basket.
-
Replace that filter and get a Stewart Gascolator and put it on the vacuum tank where it belongs at the top of the vacuum tank. Make sure you put a copper crush gasket above and below the gascolator where it fastens to the vacuum tank as well as the two cork gaskets within the gascolator.

When your car was built, I don't think they used Kevlar. The original (as when built) was probably leather or a cork plugged face. Look at a Dykes Manual, circa 1910. What is the make, model and year of your car? Bob Knaak is an excellent resource.

Was the original clutch a leather wrapped face or cork plugged face? Look at an early Dykes manual, circa 1910.

The only reason to go to Dairy Queen is to use the restrooms and even that is a questionable thing to do. Poor Food, Poor Service and Filthy!

Some time ago, someone published a copy of a Stewart Warner vacuum tank parts list showing the various tanks by number and the car they fit. I would like a copy of that list of parts.
