  1. Check with Vin Cassidy at 978-758-0834
  2. Number of years ago, I was coming south on I-95 through Vermont and pulled into a rest stop at White River Junction and was greeted by VT State Police and a Federal DEA taskforce. When I asked about the use of the facilities, after inspecting my car hauling box trailer with its vehicle inside and suburban throughly, I was told to use the nearest tree. They were busy using the facilities for strip searching questionable suspects and not available. Male or female, it didn't make any difference, use the nearest tree.
  3. A half round file is not half round. Make an open hole paper template of the body of the lock and fasten the pattern in the location of the lock. Then file the hole to template.
  4. As I said before, pictures of the Serial number plate and the engine number would be helpful!
  5. The one closest to the seat and having a round bezel is for a Bermuda Bell.
  6. It would be interesting to see the engine serial number and the serial number on the data plate from the Franklin Speedster along with additional pictures.
  7. If the fee to register at this or any auction was applied to a winning bidders costs, it would be a much more accepted arrangement. Just a thought.
  8. To the OP, contact Vin Cassidy at vincentcassidy1@gmail.com or 978-758-0834 for rims and lock rings.
  9. What is the history of the Woodie? There was a similar car in a chicken coop in Granby, CT many years ago, 1960's.
  10. Not a Stevens Duryea which had full elliptic springs on all four corners and a radiator in front of the front axle.
  11. I have a color chip book from the early 1900's that was taken into a PPG paint distributor that in turn scanned 6 close colors. All six formulas came out the same. I then took the chip book to an older vehicle painter who scanned the color requested by eye, hand mixed it with period coloring tints and produced the exact color desired. So much for the modern machines.
  12. Do the wooden bows, below the top fabric, have a leather wrapping sewn on them? What is the width across the bows, at the bottom edge of the top fabric? Thanks.
  13. A side profile picture of the bows extended would be of great help, along with dimensions of the top as it is extended.
  14. If you are replacing an existing top a FEW can be correct. If you are designing or installing a completely new top, a FEW isn't enough.
  15. When it comes to a discussion or comments about Landau Irons, the first thing to do is to discover whether they are actually functional or purely decorative. It does make a difference.
  16. In your second sketch, if the irons were not tight, gravity could pull them down and cause the top to fall while the vehicle is in motion.
  17. I'm glad someone finally provided a proper explanation and sketch of the correct installation of landau irons.

    Fuel gauge

Yes, It's a 1/8"dowel and it works perfectly every time. What year, model or series? That information helps every time.
  19. Angelfish, When I asked for your location, I meant that you should post it in this area. I'm on the east coast of the US and do not have anything that would help, but someone near you might.

    Antique trunk

A good clear picture, "straight on" of the end of the trunk, plus dimensions would be very helpful in determining from what car it might have come.
  21. More pictures would be helpful and any dimension of holes.
