Other side of garage?

Been a member for a long time, just seeing whose watching. Actually, I forgot my password.
I own an 86 Camaro, 87 toyota celica(it's for sale), and a 91 ford F-150 along with the 89 Reatta, 130,000 miles. In my defense, the ford was cheap and I had to have it to pull the boat, 21 foot v-hull, 1978 with reconstructed floor, transom, and drivetrain. Untill I can talk the wife into dismantling a perfecly good running car(doesn't make sense to me either), I have to be content with making the boat go faster. Got 63mph the first year(conservative build) and still ran it as a family cruiser. Boats don't have the emmision regulations cars do, so that is where I put most of my hot rod efforts. Even have a seperate garage for this stuff. Already have the supercharged Reatta in mind so I can blow off the boating stuff for a while.

Just bought a '73 'cuda which I turning into a race car (still slightly streetable as I have to drive it 10 minutes to the drag strip). Putting a 440 in it which I just had on the dyno. 524 horsepower. Should be lots of fun. Makes up for the lack of power in the Reatta. grin.gif" border="0

My other side of the garage is now my son's 96 Blazer LS 4WD. He promptly tore out the radio cassette player and speakers, changed the tires, and had the exhaust pipes re-configured. Which is ok by me. I now know when he comes home...LOL! wink.gif" border="0
Jade cool.gif" border="0

Presently I am down to five cars. At the house is the '98 Regal GS (supercharged) and the Yukon. In the workshop, '65 Corvair Corsa convertible (owned since '68), White '91 Reatta convertible and burgundy '90 coupe. While the workshop was designed to hold three cars, one of the stalls is full of saws, power washer, extra wheels, etc. so I keep the '91 on the lift and park the '90 under it.

Wow, I must say I'm impressed with all the vette's, corvairs, and especially Harry's long list of vehicles. Since I am presently living the college life of sharing a 3 bedroom house with seven other people, there isn't room for the cars. But back at my parents house sit my '88 Reatta and my first love -'81 El Camino, which I've had since I was fifteen! (it only gets used in the summer along with the Reatta). These all sit along with my folks '64 and '57 vettes and my pop's '63 Studebaker Avanti. Now I'm fending off the East Lansing winter with a nice '85 Chevy station wagon frown.gif" border="0 , but then spring will be here soon enough right..? mad.gif" border="0
J.L.S.

Nothing exciting here - my 91 Reatta coupe shares the garage next to a 2002 Buick Rendezvous and a completely disassembled 1974 MGB chrome bumper roadster. One day I am going to get around to putting the thing back together......one day!

Am seeing a similar train here
Front garage where Reatta lives has wife's '90 Bonneville nearest door.
In the back garage are '92 TranSport 3800, 86 2.8 Fiero, and '70 Judge.
Am thinking about swapping the Fiero for an '88 Reatta that needs some work but have not decided yet.
Back could hold five cars plus many tires/wheels/transmissions/axles and a few engines (four at last count) but wife's woodworking and my electronics bench take up two stalls.
No lift but garage does have cathedral ceilings to make engine pulling easy.

In my driveway (yes, that's driveway! Garage is on the drawing board!) is '89 Black Reatta ( 194,000,driven in nice weather only, tarped winters), 'Black '89 totalled in the front ( 102,000,purchaced as parts car, also tarped 'till the garage goes up and to keep the township off me!) and my "goin' to Home depot "," garbage pickin' special", daily driver- '88 Red Dodge cargo van with a big American flag hanging on the side which flaps proudly in the breeze flying down the street! God Bless America where one can garbage pick one day and drive a Reatta the next! tongue.gif" border="0

My Reatta shares a garage with 34 other cars none of which are mine. Part of the deal with the spouse to get the Reatta had to get rid of my 73 Citroen SM. My daily driver is a 1996 Pontiac Trans Sport with commercial plates, which I use for work....great van, its a shame that they don't make them in plastic anymore, as it is the only work vehicle I have had that didn't look like a metal garbage can rolled down the stairs from the top of the Empire State Building after a couple years of service. My accountant has been telling me to get a new truck for a couple of years now, but there is no truck on the market today that is as stylisticly cool or as indestructable as my old Trans Sport. Hell, if it were to be replaced, I would probably just find a new (old) plastic Trans Sport to replace it.

And my TranSport is four years older - original Aardvark version but with 3800 8*). Good vehicle to have in a hailstorm.
Part of reason cars are so old is that having worked at GM when airbags were being developed, prefer a good set of harnesses any day.(YMMV)
Really, of those posting am seeing a lot of simularities (and cars that I have had at different times - used to autocross Corvairs seriously (140 Corsa Convert) and have had both the van version and a Fitch Sprint. That was about the time I got rid of all of the Corvettes...
Quite a few Fieros here also (the car you wear) but apparently no Iron Dukes. Think that says something. Considering how the Reatta, Fiero, and TranSport are like a Trabant, possibly a common thread there.
Have needed to resist the urge for more several times - five is really the right number particularly since am never home. (Cold and wet in Atlanta today).
Are only a few cars that would tempt me these days: a Studillac is one. FIAT 124 Spyder is another. And then there is the Facel-Vega...

To the right sits a 4.6 Range Rover (belongs to wife and Clouseau, our Briard); to the left crouches the 280th Thunderbird built (a '55 delivered in November '54), with 123,000 miles. AND RUSS, I DO REMEMBER THE HENRY J. IT WAS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SEARS & ROEBUCK CATALOG FOR $995.
Jerry

My 89 red Reatta shares the garage with four other vehicles. I have the first new car I ever bought a 64 GTO and it only has 33,614 miles on it. It's my baby. Also in the garage is a 68 Shelby GT500 convertible, a 68 AMX and to be practical my wife drives a 97 Taurus. Nice to finally see what other Reatta lovers have in their stable, seems to be a pretty well rounded assortment.

Hey, C.F.
You know, it's a good idea to leave the keys in your garaged cars (especially the GT500 ragtop) just in case of fire or other emergency. That way you can get it quickly out of harm's way. (And, by the by, what's your home address...just in case we want to send a Christmas card?)

Hey jjrover, my Shelby is well protected, I bought it in 1970 for $5225.00 and estimates today are anywhere from 45K to 58K. My garage is my second home or should I say my first if you ask the wife. Barney is right we sure have a nice array of cars, just goes to show you that anyone who owns a Reatta really has taste!!!

My three car garage out back houses:
1940 Chevy street rod, gnarly, IROC running gear. Has won serious trophies
1982 full size Blazer custom. 2wd, lowered nice paint, graphics, upholstery, loaded. Has new balanced 4 bolt 350 and built 700R4.
1991 Reatta coupe, all accessories, 87000 miles but could pass for 20000. pristine in and out.
I take these out for shows and to the drive-in on Saturday night. This car nut thing (disease) is contagious and expensive. I might would let the Blazer go only to make room for a Reatta convertible.
