  1. Just purchased a nicely restored 1936 Oldsmobile sedan street rod. Need to know the location of the vin #. Is it on the frame? # on the title is F534314. Steve Minneapolis
  2. I've got a low mileage (29,500) 1990 red/grey coupe for sale. $9500 firm. Go carsoup.com for details. This car is a multiple trophy winner and is absolutely cherry! Steve Minneapolis, MN
  3. The moron repairing my tire failed to reinstall the original grey valve stem cap and put on a standard black one. I didn't discover it until I got home. Where on earth can I get one of these? My understanding is that Buick has discontinued these. This car goes to a few shows, so I would like to have all correct caps. Thanks! Steve Minneapolis
  4. Has anyone installed wire wheels on their Reatta? If so, who are the best manufacturers? Please attach photo examples if possible. Thanks! Steve Minneapolis

  6. With too many cars and a two year old son, it's time to part with my baby. Please go to carsoup.com (click on the link below) and get the details . This car is truly amazing! It must go to a good home where it will continue to be babied. Thanks for looking! 7. In the 1990 owners manual, it says that a hardware kit and a strap are available from Buick to install a child seat. Does anyone have these GM part numbers? It also talks about hardware (in the glove box of Canadian cars) to mount the top strap of a child seat. What is this hardware and where does it install? To me, the plastic luggage hold downs in front of the rear compartment doors look inadequate to keep the front seat back from moving. Has anyone any suggestions on successfully and safely installing a child seat? Thanks! Steve Minneapolis
  8. My 28,000 mile coupe is driving me crazy. Oil pan gasket replaced. Water pump replaced. But still some drips on the garage floor, but from another source. My steering rack is leaking. Is that common with the Reatta? I've never heard of a leaking steering rack. My garage is quoting 3 hours of labor for $210, and a new "short rack" from GM for $271. Tie rods should be ok he said. Alignment is the icing on the cake at $65. If I don't do anything right now is it a big deal? I'll practically have a new car when this is all done. Ouch ! Steve Minneapolis
  9. Hi...just had the original plugs changed on my 28,000 mile 1990 Reatta coupe. Now idle is a little rough ( noticeable when car is in drive at a stoplight ). Is this something I can adjust myself? If so, how? Before the plug change idle was smooth. Thanks! Steve Minneapolis
  10. Hi Wally...I checked with a Buick dealer and he is even higher at $275 labor. The pump price of $111 is for a new one thru Buick, not a rebuilt. If I was closer, I'd drive the car to you and have you do the job. Steve Minneapolis
  11. I have a 28,000 actual mile Reatta that recently became a little "noisy" under the hood at idle. The diagnosis from my mechanic is the water pump. He quoted $111 for a NEW pump, $48 for a new belt ( is that the timing belt? ) and $203 labor. Does that sound about right? Of course, I'm going to flush the cooling system at the same time. My mechanic is also going to replace a leaking oil pan gasket ( the second time this has happened ). Gasket is $17 and labor is $105. Wow these labor rates are amazing. This is a private garage and not a Buick dealer. Car is virtually perfect so I want to keep it that way. Steve Minneapolis p.s. I'm considering driving the car through its first winter here in Minnesota. How does the Reatta perform in the snow ???
  12. I have a 1990 Reatta Coupe with 26,500 actual miles. Service A/C light started to come on intermittently a couple of weeks ago. Now it stays on, even when the climate control system is turned off. What is the likely problem here? Would an A/C freon recharge fix this problem? Thanks! Steve Minneapolis

    Tires ???

Hi...I have a cherry red 1990 with 27,000 actual miles. I need to make a tire change this spring. Can I still get new Goodyear GT +4 tires ( if so, where? ) , or should I go with a quieter, better performing tire. I've heard a lot of good things about the Yokohama AVS db on Reattas. Thanks! Steve Minneapolis
  14. Hi...what's the best way to polish the plastic lenses on the front parking lamps? Thanks. Steve Minneapolis
  15. I have a 1990 Reatta that is model number 4EC97. Just purchased a 2003 Rendezvous. It has FWD not AWD. What is the correct model number? Thanks! Steve Minneapolis
