1. My winter car a '94 Park Ave (with standard 3800), has developed a problem. After sitting for a few months, I attempted to start it. The engine fires and runs for about two seconds and then shuts off. Does this have anything to do with the security or alarm? Has anyone had similar problems? The only other thing is to bring up the codes and then start with the fuel filter and work from there. Any ideas would help. Jake
2. I'll buy the passenger side vent window and mirror, as mine got eaten by the side of the garage. -Jake slusserj@msu.edu
3. I'll give you $20 and send you my broken one. email: slusserj@msu.edu
4. Gordon, I could use the passenger side vent window/mirror. You can email me at slusserj@msu.edu Thanks
5. 1990 Red Reatta w/ grey interior 176,000, was purchased from original owner. Not really sure I if want to give it up unless someone is interested in the $2300 range. Car is located in Jackson, Michigan. Email: slusserj@msu.edu
6. I just bought a red '89 and it needs the passenger vent window after the guy smacked off the mirror on his garage. Does anyone have parts? Also I noticed that even after driving the car home the back brake drums are still rusty. The brakes feel spongy and seem like only the front are working? Is this a symptom of the TEVES system going bad? Thanks for the help. Jake
7. I'm checking out a Reatta this weekend and wondering what specifics I should keep my eyes on. It's an '89 and I'm aware of the brake system on these models. Also the car had the passenger side mirror knocked off. The glass was broken and will require a new vent window. The mirror seems to be ok, so can that be reattached without purchasing the whole vent-window/mirror combination? Thanks for your help and I'll be considering all this on the long drive to Wisconsin to view the car. Jake
8. I live in East Lansing, Michigan. I had not visited the museum since I was a kid. I will head down there tomorrow and see if this Reatta exists.
9. Red/tan guts 78,000 mi New Mexico car now in southern Michigan needs headliner $4500 obo reply to jakeslusser@yahoo.com
10. I was at a swap-meet earlier today and saw a vendor selling a Buick Reatta 1/24 scale assembled model. I do not know who makes these, as it was not identified on the box. The box is white and has a red coupe on it. Does anyone know anything about these? -J
11. A vette parked next to the Reatta in the garage would solve this problem. The Reatta was built for comfort and a hint of performance. If you want to smoke the Acura, early 90's vettes go for under $9K. J
12. Thanks for the help guys, I think I'll try the leather conditioner from www.griotsgarage.com. The Slusher's Odor kill may be the next option if the other doesn't work. If those don't cure it, then now that I think about it, those darn neighbor kids are always playing with matches by our garage! Thanks again, J
13. Even though this is a non reatta question I think you guys might be able to help. After getting my mom's '64 vette out of storage a year ago I still haven't been able to get the moth ball scent out of the leather seats! I know the smell is coming from the leather seats/door panels. I've used carpet deoderizer, charcoal, and let it bake in the sun with the doors all open. It's been over a year now and everytime you step out of the car after driving it for 15 minutes my clothes smell like moth balls! Not very appealing eh? Maybe you guys have a solution or something you use? Thanks, J
14. So you are asking $3184.71 for the car is US dollars? That's not too bad of a price if I'm correct about the number.
15. Check to see if there is a coin in the cigarette lighter. I had that happen once.
16. Living in East Lansing, I see the same three every day on campus and the when I am out and about I usually see atleast two others driving around the Lansing/East Lansing area. Also if I go back home to Jackson, Michigan there are usually one or two around.

Haven't taken the Reatta to the salt flats yet, but otherwise my fastest was around 130 in an '81 El Camino when a Prelude wanted the challenge. My best sleeper was an '84 Chrysler Laser. I used to suprise many camaros off the line, with a little help from the turbo.
20. Jim,
When you get a chance can you email me a picture or too. slusserj@msu.edu
thanks,
J
21. Chuck forget these other guys, it's nice to hear some of the good ole' days from you guys even though I'm just a young whipper snapper myself. I've done some similar things back in high school, but since the audience is so critical I'll save it for those nights when we break out the moonshine and start telling lies about women.
J
22. I am interested in you convertible. Do you have pictures? Email me your number and I'll give you a call. Or just email me @ slusserj@msu.edu
Jake

24. I'd say forget the dealer. Their mark up is terrible, when they usually get such a car as a trade in. Rather, try buying from a private owner, you can usually get honest answers and a clear history of it. Also it's easier to get a mechanic to look at a car like that. Finally, dealers usually hold stiff on the price, as they can usually dump a car at the auction and get a standard price for it. The private owner usually has insentives to get rid of their car, (ie, divorce, nagging wife, need of money, etc.) The only thing the dealer can really offer is the warranty, otherwise I'd say check the classifieds for the private owners.
J
