Paul Dobbin
A friend bought a ANTIQUE one wheel trailer at Hershey and need a pair of these balls to hook it up to his 1924 Cadillac. Trulyvintage
If the trailer ball size needed is not 1 7/8 inch then the trailer coupler will need to be changed to that size. Jim
DFeeney
Do you mean 1 5/16" which is a standard buy anywhere size?

I have an old trailer made in the late 40s-early 50s that takes a 1 7/8 ball, 1 5/8 seems strange.
Rusty_OToole
Could it be a European make with metric parts?
dl456
1-5/8’’ was a common size years ago. Should be a few hanging around.

Hopefully we'll find aa bunch of these odd ball hitch balls, 1 5/8", like used in the 1920's. If not, we'll have to make them.

Laughing Coyote
Just a thought. What about searching for a threaded 1 5/8" steel ball. I found several on line. Then you could loc tight a mounting bolt or come up with something else to mount it to.
George Smolinski
I would think they wouldn’t be that difficult to turn on a lathe.
JV Puleo
Only with a ball turning fixture. They aren't common. Drilling and tapping a mild steel ball would be much easier.
Jubilee
I had 5 or 6 mostly unused ones found in my brothers things when he passed. Had a wooden box full of hitch balls. He was in his nineties. One of my great grandsons wanted some to weld on top of steel gate in his driveway, and that’s where the odd size is now. They’re out there.

Great idea though…..
