classiclines
Not Mine - listing by Cadillac judge... https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1630389/1940-cadillac-60-special-for-sale-in-waukesha-wisconsin-53186 Vehicle Description This 1940 Cadillac Series 60 Special Fleetwood is mostly original, matching numbers with original interior car. It has been painted back to the color code 13, head turning 2 tone Evergreen and Chickory green. The body has absolutely no bondo in it. Being a qualified Cadillac judge, I spent 2 years refreshing and returning the car to original specs. The car runs great and floats straight down the road as a 1940 Cadillac should drive without any suspension rattles. The car has won many awards including an Award of Excellence at the Milwaukee Concours (awarded by Donald Osborn) and a first at the Cadillac Grand National. I have many spare parts and lots of documentation to go with the car and as a Cadillac Judge, I can tell you the minor points that would subtract from the scoring of an as delivered to the dealer in 1940. A new business is taking all my time leaving none foe the car so it needs a new home so it can spend time out of a garage. neil morse
Oh my, a lot of tempting things on this forum right now, but this one takes the prize for me! A screaming deal for someone, for sure.
John_S_in_Penna
It looks like an excellent car, owned by an excellent owner, one who took the best care of his car. Often, the type of the owner makes a big difference. It's a bit too much green for me, but I like the 1940 Cadillacs in general. Thank you for sharing this find, Classic Lines! daniel boeve
Indeed a screaming deal , if it was not that the $$ is very strong comparing to the past and we have to pay more than 20%more for the same amount of $$ and also the shipping doubled i would be very tempted . Rivguy
If I was smart, I'd only buy a car in this condition. There's no way I could buy a clunker and bring it up to anywhere close to this shape, for anything near this price. The more time I spend on this forum the better I learn that wisdom. Now I just need some money! I'd better start saving!
60s GM Fan
This is a very clean car for a reasonable price. Worth purchasing.
Steve_Mack_CT
A touch more than a lot of closed Ford V8 cars. The 60 Special is a great late 30s, early 40s car
58L-Y8
A stellar, landmark, influential design, perfected chassis engineering and quality craftsmanship, ready-to-enjoy condition, realistic price: what's not to like?!?

One of the most popular cars with CCCA members as they are great Caravan tour cars. Frankly, looks like a screaming deal to me for that price.
B Jake Moran
Not sure on nearly $28,000 being a great deal. That’s all the money. I watched a 1940 in excellent condition go no sale here in central Iowa for 9 months dropping from $27,000 to an $17,500 sale. And there are relatively quite a few left because they are beloved. I owned a 1941 60S and much prefer the leaner look of the 1938-1940s.
Steve_Mack_CT
Seems very reasonable imho, given the condition, known history of the car. I know you can find one that will go down the road for under $20k. But the 60 Specials I have seen in this condition are all mid 20s at least.
