Yeah, I've never understood why somebody would recognize that their car is rare, brag about its low production number, but then destroy or remove the very thing that made it so rare.  (the 6 cylinder motor in the 90 series car)

I see this on FoMoCo cars. "Rare one of one!  Documented with the Marti report".  Well the Marti report says that it was one of one because it had an unusual paint and trim combination. However during the restoration (sometimes an expensive stock restoration) the color and trim were changed to a very common version.

I'm sorry, if you changed or destroyed the very thing that made your car rare, then you should not be allowed to brag about it being rare.

UGH(LY)!!!!

The age old question: What were they thinking? Well, obviously they were NOT thinking !!!!!!

As has been stated before - what a way to ruin a car.

It may cost the asking price to get this (only 1 in existence) car back to the way it SHOULD be.

SMH......

  • 2 weeks later...

What was that other car that was the last in existence that someone turned into a hot rod...knowing it was the last in existence? I think it was a 30's era coupe, maybe a roadster, but I can't remember which make. Packard, maybe? It was on the forum three or four years ago, I think.

I guess I've been trying to forget about it, and have mostly succeeded. 😄 If anyone remembers what it was, let me know.

I don't know if this is the same car that I recall seeing in West Hills, California around 2012. Met this guy at a car show and he was getting rid of some parts, so he asked if I would stop by his house to look if I needed anything. I recall that he lived only three blocks from me. Definitely same color '41 convertible Olds as this one.
