John_S_in_Penna
Here are views of a 1957 Cadillac 2-door hardtop which I saved from the internet. It carries its 1950's color scheme nicely, I think:

It's my favorite G.M. car for 57.
Ozstatman
Flicking through the Pay TV Channels today came across a French Film "Mon Oncle" with a '56 Chevy in it. OK, so what, it had a '56 Chevy? Yes, but the colours were "spectacular". The chevy was mainly Kermit Green with a Pink(?) roof and the boot(trunk) lid in another colour. A bit earlier, before I managed to get the iPhone out, a side view of the Chevy showed the chrome trim strip running down the car had the same pink colour in its middle! Couple of photos attached were taken off the TV screen. posted the photos here mainly for the pink connection but intrigued about the authenticity of the colour scheme. EDIT - Sorry for the photo quality, best I could do in the circumstances Edited January 9, 2022 by Ozstatman (see edit history)

It's my favorite G.M. car for 57. I owned that exact car, except it was a Sedan DeVille. It had come from california, and met with a buzzard out west. It received a white hood, that I hadnt gotten to paint before it was sold. It had AC and a 6 way power seat. Pink leather and black cloth with pink nylon thread in it. I rebuilt everything in it, including the wonderbar radio and power antenna, and drove it for a few years. It was a massive car and had great highway manners. Was a lot of fun to pass folks doing 70 and look at thier expression......

Vernon put the Dodge on stands because his son made the decision to pursue his passion to become a Elvis Presley Impressionalist, and the Caddy was his contribution to fulfillment of this dream. To complete the image his son sought to convey, Vernon also restored a 1957 Chevy Bel Air for his daughter-in-law. Vernon has since taken his final earthly drive, but his memory lives on through his awesome son, his fantastic daughter-in-law, and their ability to bring audiences to their feet during their Impressions of Elvis performances across the nation. Modified to " It's a 1956 Cadillac " don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Edited January 12, 2022 by Pfeil (see edit history)

Anyway, I have the video of the Chevy being restored and, if I can figure out how to do it, I’ll post it later. The 57 Chevy is not restored. It's a modified car. Just in the picture I see incorrect wheels, tires, paint color, disc brakes and interior.

But this photo was posted on another thread, on this forum, possibly some years ago. I am a length of service, retired Army Sergeant Major (which to some, alone, is offensive), and a retired Department of Corrections, Corrections Officer (which others may find offensive), with almost 20 years experience working with convicted felons in a penal institution. I am not offended by criticism because I didn’t know the exact year a car was manufactured in, or what changes was made to its interior. I am offended when childish (1958 Caddy???????????????) explicity’s are used to question my intelligence. “It’s a 1956 Cadillac” would have sufficed. I'm sorry I offended you, so I changed it to your taste. Hope it makes you feel better.

rocketraider
😍🥰😻💗 Have mercy! Why can't cars have color and style like that now? Daresay even some of these worn bars of soap that pass for cars now might- just might- be able to pull off wearing a nice subtle shade of pink. You mean to say that we shouldn't be satisfied with white, light gray, medium gray, dark gray, and black? The "Ringelmann Chart" is used to evaluate pollution by its shade of gray; but it might as well be used as a current paint-chip folder! They all belong to the cosmetic company, and get turned back to them after a few years. Before they are either sold or traded in for new Cadillacs, they are repainted white, or some other standard Cadillac paint color. Well, as they say, always exceptions.... I painted TWO 1986 Cadillacs that were Mary Kay pink, code 008 on the firewall data plate. They came from a Manheim auction my used car friend went to, either Fredericksburg or Manheim PA. I painted both of them the burgundy color of 1986, probably code 68CN. If you see a burgundy 86 Caddy with pink way down on the front fender wheel well area, might be one I painted. Trying to get paint down in that well was impossible at the price point I painted them...😉
