plymouthcranbrook
Are these that rare and desired for this one to be worth $17,000? I am not a GM guy but maybe half-two thirds of asking price? Edited October 19, 2021 by plymouthcranbrook (see edit history)
suchan
Wagons are hot and nice ones are rare, but I agree the asking price is "aspirational".
Gearheadengineer
I love wagons and this one is pretty cool. But above comments on price are spot on. Would be a fun car to tool around in though.

supercub
Inflation, yes, raise the price to really make it sell slower. I like the 68 Impalas the most. 2

kingrudy
Smart move by seller, couldn't sell the car for 17K so increased price to 22K and let it sit for a couple of weeks and then dropped the price to 20K. Buyer will be so confused that he may offer him 22K.
JamesR
Cool and original looking old 4 door wagons like this have a definite appeal. They remind people what growing up in the 1960's was really like for most folks. The problem is, people old enough to remember that era are also old enough to remember when this kind of car in this condition would bring maybe $400 on the used market. Yes times have changed, but people haven't changed all that much. Hard to reconcile. I'd love to have this car, but couldn't bring myself to pay that amount. However, I'm really surprised some Chevy guy hasn't bought it.
supercub
We always had a station wagon when I was a kid. The first I remember was a 50s Chevrolet that really crusty. A few more came and went. The best, a 60s Buick wagon, had the skylight running across the hood. My Mother let me drive it up our street when I was about 11 years old. Not sure that would happen nowadays but it was the first real car I drove, others being my wooden go-karts. After a while it sat in the garage for some time, replaced by a Pinto. My father sold it for only a few hundred bucks one night. I was surprised back then for how little he let it go for. The Pinto didnt prove itself well and was given to me as my first car and my Mother got a big Ford wagon with the woodgrain sides. My sister drove it into a tree and from then on it was 80s Japanese econoboxes.
TAKerry
Nice looking solid car. But just because they are old doesnt make them gold! (Ha, I should copyright that!) I would think about 8-10k would be more than a fair price for that car.
