Guest imported_SKYSTHELIMIT
I got lots of gifts but one in peticular made me happier then the day I got my first car and license combined. My brother sent me the very 1st issue of the Batman comic book and even the fact that its only a reprint has me jumping for joy. It came in a box made to be diplayed with a companion book (Batman The Golden Age) and a repodution of the 1939 Batman action figure repoduced to the greatest of detail and must say as evil looking as the vilans he went after. It was very fasinating looking at the cars in the comic and companion book seeing Batman chase after the joker in what looks like to be (from my judgement not well educated from cars from this era) a RollsRoyce and pics of Batman and Robin on an Indian motor cycle. There are even pics of them fighting Catwomenon a Crisscraft wooden power boat.

Dave@Moon
Actually my only gift was a self-recharging darkening welder's mask, of which I got 2! The one I ordered for my wife to give me (don't ask!) and the one she ordered herself. Miracles do happen!

Centurion
My wife gave me the book "The American Automobile Factory". Lots of great vintage assembly line photos, so look forward to spending a chunk of time with my nose in this one.My wife's parents gave me a Hemmings calendar -- this one featuring strictly Oldsmobiles. Lots of great photos, so I'll enjoy this one all year long.Another favorite gift received from my in-laws was a videotape called "China Clipper", which is a documentary of Pan American Airways' pioneering effort to establish the first trans-Pacific airline service. Lots of great vintage footage of the fabulous Sikorsky, Martin, and Boeing flying boats.
Guest Reatta1
From my son-in-law, the June 30, 1986 issue of AutoWeek with the white Reatta on the cover and the article covering the pending introduction of the Reatta, Allante and Maserati. The issue that was on e-bay. How he lucked out getting it he didn't explain.
juddman
I got a set of 3 very nice old Craftsman body dollys (from the 50's?) - a heel dolly, a small comma dolly, and a universal dolly. Perfect for me to work on removing dents and smoothing out the metal on the old Bimmer! I just finished my adult-ed autobody course a little bit ago and have been itching to continue learning on my own, but I need TOOLS! I still need a slapping file, a vixen file, a few sanding boards and have been trolling Ebay for old Fairmount hammers in good shape...

rocketraider
Well, Wayne- I got a day off too, which in the powerplant binness is kinda odd. This was the first Christmas I'd had off in 8 years, and I think I've had 6 off out of the last 23. Good news is, I'm now set to be off the next seven !Got a new Civil War print, a copy of "Oldsmobile- the First Seventy-Five Years" , a Hurst/Olds wall clock, and the same Hemmings calendar Brian got. Some socks and drawers too, but even at 46, getting those is just like getting 'em when you were a kid.

Guest
Not so fast Bob, stop your drooling for a minute. It is a late '26 juice brake chassis with a '24 velox engine with the addition of an Aussie made "wensum" wood skiff body "recreation". Essentially a "marriage" although with mostly original parts. 30-98's were and are enormously popular in Australia with ALOT of repro parts available. My chassis was found in the desert and "assembled" from other 30-98 parts hence it's fairly reasonable cost.

Peter J.Heizmann
Hi, folks. Sorry to digress, but, I received nothing TR6 related, however, the best present was getting our power back on after 1 1/2 days without it. Heavy snows tore the wires down, along with thousands of trees in the Reading, PA area. A 15 foot, 8" diameter branch fell onto the driveway, missing both garage roofs by a few feet. (Was thinking of taking that tree down just for the same reason... done deal, it is coming down in the Spring.)Periodically, I would take my laptop out to the pickup, and, charge it using an inverter. Family is getting together today to celebrate Christmas.Regards, Peter J. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />

R W Burgess
Peter, What a net site. I could spend all weekend going through your pictures, but I'd get jealous real quick. Cape Cod, Wow! Now, the house, flat roof? No water problems in Arizona, I guess! Last rainfall in 1965? No grass to cut. I could live with that. I love the interior shots with the Southwest flavor. What's with the tall wall, to keep out nightly varmits or a zoning law? I picked on you enough. I can tell everybody's happy in the new house from all the smiles I see. Uh!, except for one inhabitant, the feline hiding under the covers wondering where he had gone wrong to get this punishment. Our cats went through that a few years ago, when we moved. One of them still bites us every chance she gets. I appreciate you sharing the pics with us. Thanks Peter.
Bill Stoneberg
Peter,I will talk to the guy who owns it tommorrow and see what he says.If he is still interested in selling (it's been 6 months since I have seen him) I will give him your e-mail or you his phone.Hope it works out for you. RoadsterRich
Ooops!Colleen pointed out a serious error in my original posting. What I actually received for Christmas was permission to buy Colleen a 1959 Mk IX Jaguar, not the car itself, and hey wait a sec! When did it become her car???. Darn Semantics!
