This is actually a 1914 American Underslung chassis.  American introduced the six cylinder cars in 1913 and they were catalogued as 1914 model year cars.   This was the smaller six cylinder car with a 132 inch wheelbase.  The bigger Type 666 car had a 140 inch wheel base. In reality most of the 1914 American cars were built in 1913.  American went out of business in early 1914.

Here is a new American Underslung on the chassis pictured.  One of the original assembly buildings for American is still standing and in use.  Apparently they took the cars to a nearby park in Indianapolis to take photos.  This particular scan was taken from an original linen backed print.
