Happy 430 Day - April 30th

It's April 30th, which means every Buick owner who has the 430 Big Block engine in their car has another reason to celebrate! Here's to the under appreciated, yet still viable, little brother to the venerable Buick 455.
Go out there today and put some miles on those 430's people!

Looks like a picture from the Hershey-Harrisburg, PA ROA meet in 2010?

I agree with Randy, LOTS of very nice Rivieras at that meet! One of our largest to date if I remember correctly.

My first 430 was my first car, a 1967 Wildcat!

For me it was a great engine. Even at 130K miles it would smoke the tires, on dry concrete pavement, NO power braking, just punching the accelerator, with snow tires installed, speedometer read 70 MPH and I was sitting almost still in a cloud of smoke!!!

My next one was a '69 Electra that didn't fare so well, the transmission failed and that one went away.

Today is 4/30/2020. That means it's National 430 Day! (OK, once again, I made that up).
Anyone with a 430 cubic inch engine in their vehicle has a reason to celebrate! (Gosh, we all need a reason to celebrate, right?)

That was our first meet. It was fantastic. I had wanted to get to a meet since Cape May in 91 when I was a kid. Cruising the 71 gs over there was great.

It's that time of year again to wish all 430 ci engine owners "Happy 430 Day"!

Yes I know I am a day early!

Here's The Aqua Zephyr with her new date code and correct model rebuilt alternator and optional for 1968 radiator overflow tank. I also finally tightened up my power steering belt to stop the squeaking on tight turns.

If only I could get those hood spring assemblies and brake booster repainted.

Happy 430 Day to all of the 1967-1969 Buick 430 c.i. Big Block owners out there!

Here's the AZ's 430 on display at this year's Raleigh, NC Goodguys car show on April 22nd. The photo was taken by one of my fellow Buick Club members.

I commented last year that I need to get my hood hinges, springs and brake booster refinished. I still have not done it. -_-

I don't know what you 455 owners are going to do.

Maybe you can lobby Congress to designate a special 455 Day!

Happy 4/30 day for the fifth year in a row! (Actually, I missed posting anything for 2019. Not sure how that happened! 🙂)

It's raining here so I will have to celebrate with a drive some other day!

Same here!  But next weekend looks promising for the Rhinebeck show.  Currently planning to bring my '67, so she'll get some early season exercise...
