  1. Willard Washer - US Patent # 937199 http://www.google.com.na/patents/US937199
  2. Looks like a 26/27 T Roadster, lowered with '35 16" wheels, juice brakes, small headlights and Model A bumpers..
  3. Thanks Larry, I stand corrected!
  4. I don't know because the jaws on this vice don't appear to be straight and probably wouldn't hold a saw for sharpening. Or if they did you'd be playing a tune on it as you sharpened! EDIT - My mistake, it is a hand saw holding vice! See the next two posts!
  5. Louis, this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1928-Other-Makes-Peerless-Sedan-/371870177925?forcerrptr=true&hash=item5695309a85:g:98wAAOSwtfhYp2kN&item=371870177925
  6. As others have commented, controls in different positions are annoying but you do get used to that, sort of. My experiences, the 2 times I've taken US trips, are that straight forward driving is just that straight forward driving. While on a couple of occasions, on turning left or right, ended up on the wrong side of the road! However my most life threatening vehicle experiences were the 2 days, instead of driving, I chose not to. Both days, as a pedestrian, I looked the wrong way and was almost run over!
  7. About a week ago saw the Chandler pictured on a run, along with cars from the Veteran Car Club(ie Pre 1919). Think it's about 1920 but don't know, leave that up to the experts
  8. Both eBay and Amazon have the book for a wide variety of prices. eBay - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=packard+the+pride&_sacat=0 Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=packard+the+pride
  9. Sorted out the photo upload problems, here's the Stude. And knowing Gary likes speedsters a couple of those too.
  10. Gary, You mentioned you are visiting the Blue Mountains(west of Sydney). If that is on Tuesday 7th Feb you may be able to tie it in with the car event in this link - http://councilofmotorclubs.org.au/coming-events/icalrepeat.detail/2017/02/07/473/-/oasis-february-run.html Irrespective of that, if you do visit the Blue Mountains a visit to the Norman Lindsay Gallery is worthwhile as is a stop at Glenbrook to visit the Aitkens Australia in the Round, which the Visitnsw.com Website describes as: “…. a unique and exciting gallery, display and museum all in one with a spectacular painted panorama of famous Australian destinations. The harbour-dominated beauty of Australia's Emerald City, Sydney along with the rugged mystery of the Blue Mountains; the toughness and brilliant colours of Australia's outback; and the natural beauty of beaches scattered along endless stretches of coastline. Add the fertile riches of Australia's rural heartland and the character and excitement of Queensland's fabulous Gold Coast and you have a fascinating collage of life in modern Australia - all captured within the 213 square metres of wall space, along with hundreds of flora and fauna samples from all around Australia.”

I'd post a photo of it but I'm having uploading problems at the moment.
  12. Gary, Have been in contact with a member of the Studebaker Club here in NSW. He advises the President, Scott, would probably be a good contact point. Link to the Stude Club contact page - http://studebakercarclubnsw.com/contact.html
  13. I understand Kanters are consolidating their inventory into one warehouse. See this thread from the PackardInfo Website - http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=18864&forum=8
  14. Gary, If travelling from Toowoomba to Ipswich, I'd recommend a visit to the Workshops Rail Museum there - http://www.theworkshops.qm.qld.gov.au/ We visited in 2014, not car-centric but well worth the visit. Earlier that day we'd also visited the Queensland Auto Museum which was outside Toowoomba - http://www.queenslandautomuseum.com.au/ but unfortunately the collection was sold off in September - http://www.thechronicle.com.au/news/lifetime-collection-classic-cars-goes-auction/3089015/#/0 The Sirromet Winery outside Brisbane has a Cars & Coffee event Sunday 19th February - http://www.sirromet.com/ Sirromet is at Mount Cotton about 150kms from Toowoomba(you'll pass through Ipswich on the way) and about 40kms South East of Brisbane. And in Oz, it's not " sheep ranch " but sheep station!
  15. G'day Gary, Here's a link to a vendor of Studebaker parts located at Brisbane - http://www.studeparts.com.au/ From there, there are also links to the various Studebaker clubs in Oz..
  16. Update - https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2017/01/25/craig-breedlove-reaches-settlement-with-museum-that-he-claims-cut-up-his-spirit-of-america/
  17. Suggest getting in contact with Russell Holden in Mudgee, Australia. Russell brings in cars and parts from the US(out of LA) to Sydney by the container load fairly regularly. Also suspect he sends stuff the other way too, if not he may be able to advise. Link to Russell's profile here, you could send him a PM - http://forums.aaca.org/profile/77041-r-holden/ Or visit his website - http://www.oldworldlamps.net Suspect Russell was involved in the import of the Cadillac in the linked thread, in the pictures it looks like the bond store he uses at outer western Sydney - http://forums.aaca.org/topic/287463-1922-cadillac-coupes-long-journey-and-recomission/
  18. Vintage Motor Garage, a restoration workshop at Central Mangrove in NSW, is one place at least that does metal stitching. Did it for one of our Packard Club members a few years back on a car having extensive cracking in the block. Link to VMG Website - http://vintagemotorgarage.com/index.php Click on Projects to see pic's of the Packard Being restored, unfortunately no pic's of the block stitching.
  19. Good one James! I too tend to have a slip of the finger fairly often.
  20. Methinks, rather than Aussie phonetic, it's a simple typing error with e & r being next to each other on a qwerty keyboard.
  21. And all but "Citrorn"(sic!) are US cars.
  22. I believe you're thinking of the Jensen Interceptor with the 383 or 440. The Jensen Healey had a 4 cyl Lotus engine.
  23. For those who'd like to start collecting - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1943-MobilGas-Oil-Car-Gremlin-Series-Stamp-Lot-odd-rods-rat-fink-hot-Monster-/162341296182?hash=item25cc4b9836:g:mZ0AAOSwv9hW17rd
  24. Might it be motorcycle related? Like you, I googled MECO with no meaningful results. Then went to eBay and found this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Meco-Motorcycle-Harley-Indian-Henderson-Ace-1928-Catalog-Brochure-L119-/131666316377?hash=item1ea7ec8c59:g:XM4AAOSwbdpWXw6Q&vxp=mtr Then this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1920s-Meco-Motorcycle-Equipment-Catalog-Harley-Indian-Henderson-Brochure-L505-/131666370920?hash=item1ea7ed6168:g:9VcAAOSwf-VWXyAa&vxp=mtr And this, although not motorcycle - http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-meco-gauges-/152400713534?hash=item237bca573e:g:KXYAAOSwNnRYftG4&vxp=mtr
