  1. Back in the '60's one of our members found a 1st Series Packard with the body missing from the cowl back, and not being able to locate another body, then rebuilt everything missing in timber to dimensions supplied another Packard Club member. All the timberwork was completed utilising the owners extensive carpentry skills Including the top, the interior of which is finished with beautiful polished timber full length slats and a new timber steering wheel. Sorry for the photo quality.
  2. Not exactly "on topic", is this link from Hemmings, which is interesting to say the least. http://www.plymouthbulletin.com/adventure01.htm If nothing else, would tend to support Mopar ruggedness and reliability. Only drawback, you'll need a few hours to read it all!
  3. The new owner could always attend the 40th Annual Graham Owners Club International Meet. See this thread - http://forums.aaca.org/topic/287093-graham-owners-club-2017-national-meet/ Certainly sounds like fun, especially if guys get hit in the face with pies!
  4. Just googled "Las Vegas Car Clubs" and found this - http://www.lasvegascarclubs.com/ Looking past the scantily clad adornments to some of the cars, you just might be able to line up a car for your shoot from one of the clubs featured?
  5. Not directly related to your car, but from google found these.......... http://forums.aaca.org/topic/186315-ralph-powers-museum-in-ct/ https://photovalet.com/377157 https://www.marylmartin.com/product/southington-connecticut-powers-auto-museum-1900-crestmobile-postcard-j55459/

  9. Al, I thought the term "New Beauty" referred to Model A's not T's, specifically the 30/31's compared to the 28/29's.
  10. The blacksmith said "it will either break in the first five miles or last 100 years. There is no way to tell which". Wonder if the car and bracket survived a 100 years!
  11. About 2 years ago during the Australian Packard Club's National Rally we visited a private collection where among the cars was a Mustang(I know, not the type of car being considered) which suffered a broken rear axle during the course of one of these Rallies. They weren't carrying a spare, how many different spares can you carry? But he was able to get it "re-welded" by a Mongolian blacksmith, in the middle of nowhere, after it broke. And re-welded, in this instance, means heating up the two pieces of axle then forging them together on an anvil. Was able to finish the Rally then, sometime later, replaced the still functioning re-welded axle with a spare. And, DavidAU, I saw "Penny" on a trailer in the yard of another Vauxhall owner in November 2012 before it was shipped off to the Great South American Challenge 2013.

  17. Reminds me of an aftermarket Cragar Steering Wheel. From the '60's? EDIT - Link to thread on the HAMB http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/official-metal-flake-steering-wheel-pic-and-id-thread.438873/

    1938 Wood?

Presuming the engine is in the car, the Eight has a monobloc cylinder block, ie one piece cast iron. While the Super Eight has a separate Aluminium(= Aluminum in the US) crankcase which bolts to the cast iron block. Or have a look at this for '38's from the PackardInfo Website - http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/modelinfo/index.php?mode=series&id=16th&ButtonSeries=Go

    1938 Wood?

If by 8 you mean "Eight"(120) then none, apart from 2 strips(non structural) the front seat mounts through. If it's a Super Eight then there likely will be more.
  22. Back in 2012 a group in 1 & 2 cylinder pre 1912 cars and motorbikes recreated the first West -> East crossing of Australia by car. The 1912 crossing was accomplished by a Brush and a number of Brushes were among the cars which did the 2012 recreation. But enough of the history lesson, what I really want to share are pic's of one of the Brushes, including the suspension, taken when the cars arrived in Sydney after their trip from Perth.
  23. Didn't know what a "1939 Luxury Liner " was, so googled it and found this - http://www.allpar.com/old/luxury-liner.html Now I know!
  24. Although the name of the Auction company is Bundaberg(365 km north of Brisbane ) the auction is on the Gold Coast at Mudgeeraba(80km south of Brisbane). So after flying into Brisbane head South!
