  1. Mr Ballard, I should explain that I don't want a Packard is because I am happy with the cars I own now. Ive owned 3 Packard's and been around a few more besides. I am always careful when making a statement that its "My opinion" . Maybe closed Speedsters are worth almost a million , but it took this farm boy by surprise.
  2. I don't want a Packard of any description. I appreciate their quality and style , but Im not interested in owning one. I was making a statement that 700-800 for a closed Packard Speedster closed sedan (in my opinion) is unreasonable. If the seller can get it though, more power to him! My dad was in the old car business from about 1957 to mid 1970s and had a saying "There's a ass for every seat"
  3. I look at it as its "Still a 4 door sedan" Yes its rare .... but If I was going to spend that much cake , the top would go down. Ive owned 2 very rare and low production custom cars that were sedans and I still enjoy the stock roadster (same year and make) 10 fold. I think its overpriced ....Just my opinion.
  4. I have several Ross Steering boxes on hand that can be sold from Franklins .I also have some Gemmer boxes. Mike West 585 738 1541
  5. Go any parts store and buy Chevrolet 6 cyl Delco Remy cap, points and condenser. Ask for 1950 Chevrolet. They also have champion or Motocraft plugs W18 I think.
  6. Joe and everyone else that responded . I am talking with Harry Heitens shop in Mass. I really appreciate all the response. Mike

  8. Members 103 1,354 posts Report post x #1 Posted 16 minutes ago Im looking for recommendations of a shop that can make some alterations to a brass radiator I have for my Mitchell. The core is almost perfect, its the right size and shape, but need work done on the tanks and outlets. I have the brass shell "in the works" so will need a radiator man very soon. My plan is to take the finished shell with my radiator and get the alterations made. Has anyone used a shop in New York, PA, New England that is a no non-sense operation? I would appreciate any thoughts. Quote

  11. McMaster Crr makes "Belt Lacing" to attach the ends of flat belt together. Why not fix the car so a belt can be changed though... Something isn't right if you need to lift the motor to change a fan belt. Years ago I made a leather belt for a Model T by using small brass rivets to attach the ends.
  12. If you want to get it sold with everyone's attention list it on Ebay no reserve , 7 day auction. In your case its all profit and it will sell.
