  1. Not one mention of a valid title yet so realize that missing those would severely limit any interest to a large number of people. I like the cutlass too as I remember them when new, but I am not young enough for anything that involved... Good luck with them
  2. I think Whippet is the only car that I know of that had those two holes on the face of the hubcaps for a spanner to remove. 1926 will be a close guess.
  3. How about the total misrepresentation of this aftermarket, albeit decent quality, mascot? Even slipping the decimal would be overpriced IMHO...
  4. I like the Oakland going by the Shape of its emblem. It was a GM car that would eventually be dropped in favor of its companion model which was the Pontiac.
  5. I was poking fun at the comments regarding younger, better looking, and such. As far as the caps they were fair game as you stated. Didn’t think it would offend, my apologies.
  6. There seems to be no rules to love, war, or the pursuit of Pierce Arrow parts... Absolutely shameless...
  7. I wish you had a picture of the other side, definitely an interesting period in our history and that car is a hoot!
  8. That was on Facebook a few days ago. That mascot is a very desirable piece which is probably a Foss-Hughes marked eagle.
  9. Aftermarket ones for the Model T Ford.
  10. Years ago I had one of those cabinets, when we last moved I realized that it needed a special place and newer homes would not fit it. So I tried to get an auctioneer friend to take it and he didn’t think it was worth the effort to move it. Then I offered it to another friend who had a salvage company specializing in Victorian houses and said it was his if he moved it... I wound up leaving it in the house! If it was a smaller length there would be a tremendous amount of interest but it still takes a special place for one that long!
  11. I went through Rhode Island Wiring and purchased the wire and ends from them and made my own. They have many different styles of connectors of varying quality so you can choose a better quality than the pre made sets.
  12. There’s also a story about Henry Leland in the early years of motor production for Cadillac going into the foundry and smashing castings that he thought looked weak... Later he would be the founder of Lincoln before Ford took it out of bankruptcy. Some wild stories about the early years of the automotive industry and the men who made themselves while they made that industry.
  13. While you are getting the tag information you will need to get as many pictures as possible for anyone on the forum to help you. It’s the only way for us to get a feel of how much is needed, missing, or conditions of what is there. You will find a lot of great information here, and I hope we can help!
  14. Here’s my one Duster Button, something similar but not quite in the same category as the ones above.
  15. I have seen these buttons in person and have to comment that the pictures do not do them justice! A very unusual collection that I had never seen before Terry shared them. Thank you for this thread!
  16. Sand in the tires is a true story, during the First World War there was also a rubber shortage just like the second war and loading tires was cheaper than a replacement
  17. At my age I might try it if I had an opportunity, would definitely bring back that devil may care feeling from my more foolish years...
  18. Your celluloid one is a very nice example, and the enamel one as well. That last one is a variety I have not seen that I can think of. Can you make out the makers mark that appears above the front of the strap loop portion?
  19. Great post, and with the current prices it’s a good time to jump in!
  20. Agree, and it’s why you should know something about the person selling or buying before sending anything out. It’s also why the “newbies” here are regarded with such caution as to a point of being offensive which tends to happen all too often... I am glad you were not scammed, it was very smart to do enough research on the photos!
  21. I didn’t think it would be any harder to find than similar dealership advertising novelties but would like to see what that set looks like! I see your letter opener is from a different dealership...
  22. Terry will want to start a new topic soon, but here’s a very similar something...
  23. I’m not as serious a collector of fobs to jump on one as I spend too much on other aspects of my collection, but I would appreciate it if you could add pictures and share any history with us...
