  1. Hi Frank, The shop that did the metal work for me mention to me he uses a shop that is either located in Naperville or St Charles to work on the engines for the cars he restores. I have fired off an email to him and asked for the shops phone number and address. Will forward it on to you once I receive it. Best regards,
  2. Hello Frank, What type of work on the motor do you need?
  3. Jeff, Thanks for sharing with us. As the looks of it you all had fun, a great turn out and are not afraid to take your cars out in the snow. Guess it is the old saying for you all "Cars a meant to be driven not just sitting around collecting dust Do they use salt on the roads in your neck of the woods?
  4. Wow that sure is clean inside for a Ford. I remember the days I worked for my stepfather some of them Ford engines caked up so easily with gunk.
  5. Terry and John, Thanks for the offer. I put this wanted add out there just in case this new chrome shop I am using couldn't repair mine. Well he can and he is moving forward in repairing them for me along with some other parts I sent him. I really appreciate your replies. Will make a followup post once I get them back.
  6. Just an FYI for anyone that cant read French. Google Toolbar has a feature for Firefox and Internet Explorer that can translate the French to English and maybe some other languages. Roger, You sure kept people interested over there. Thirty pages of replies. How wonderful is that.
  7. I received the same response yesterday on my Headlight wanted add. Is this guy legit or a scammer.
  8. Good Morning Keith, You posted a shortcut to you picture instead of the actual picture. So we can't see it on our end.
  9. This may work for you too. That is if you have a compressor to pump the can up. Eastwood Billet Rechargeable Aerosol Can

  15. For you all that don't visit the Packard Forum. Here are some wood grain pictures. This was all done by hand by a lady that works for the shop that did the metal fabrication on my car.
  16. I purchased mine from Narragansett Reproductions - Wiring Harnesses and antique car / automobile restoration supplies I have installed the main lighting harness without a hitch. I have not had a chance to get to installing the Engine harness but if it is anything like the main lighting (which has more wires to hooked up) I will be a happy camper. This harness is well made and also came with a wiring diagram and instructions.
  17. Used to go here when I was a teen with my '70 GTO. But then the new crowd started to show up in the 80's with the ah you know. Still stop in there when in the area for their Beef. Dukes Italian Beef Drive In Chicago Illinois My wife's favorite Superdawgdrive-in

  19. Owen, As a newbie to Packard in '96 when I inherited the car I took a few pieces off the engine and had them plated. See it was the old muscle car mentality that I had I guess You know chrome for show I know now it is not correct but for now they will stay. When and if I ever decide to put it in a Packard or AACA show I can take them off and paint them the correct colors. Hopefully she will be running by this summer.
  20. I picked up the Dashboard and other parts from the shop the other day. This is the same shop that did all the metal work for me. He did not do the wood-graining he has a lady that does it for him and it is all done by hand. Here are a few pictures of the dash. Not the best lighting but can see her work. I very please with them and amazed the talent people have when it come to that kind of work.
  21. Better half paid second payment for the wood-graining for my '31 Packard
  22. Eric, Sorry to read about the problems you had with your car purchase from the states. Someone mention early on you could of come here and asked for help before you purchased the car. I for one would of been one of them to offer to help you out. Lemont is literally 2 minutes from where I live. I would have been happy to look at the car for you. Sure hope it all works out for you.
  23. Bob, I do not know. You could however ask over at this site. They may know Packard Motor Car Information - Packard Literature and Manuals
