  1. Stylish One, Sorry for the delay. Here's the website where I got mine. It is the 16 ft. one and it was $475.00 I keep my Model A in one and I have one for my Corvette Stingray.
  2. I have a Car Coon. I know it sounds funny but it works as it should. I just clean the car at the end of the season and drive it into the deflated cacoon. You then pull the cover over the car and plug it up. The motor inflates the cacoon and keeps the air circulating. No dust, no mice, very little effort. Then, if I get a pretty day, just deflate it, unzip it and drive off. No complaints.
  3. I can tell by your signature that you are a real Dr. LOL. Seriously, thanks for trying to same some old iron. I wish more people were into that.
  4. It's my opinion to keep them as close to original as possible. They are worth more in the long run. As SC38DLS said, "they are original only once" . That being said, it's your car, do it as you want it and enjoy it ! By the way, Welcome to the site. There's a large amount of knowledge here, just ask. And.... post pics.
  5. It truly is good news. I'm sure everyone on this forum shares in your excitement. You have some really good friends there.
  6. Thanks everyone. I'm going to try and check everything everyone said. I'll keep you updated. I love this forum ! Thanks again.
  7. Thanks, guys. I will replace the condenser while checking the points gap. I really appreciate everyone's help.
  8. Thanks, MikeC5 I will check the gap. It could very well be the problem since I was inside the distributor.
  9. Need help please ! Hello everybody. Hope everyone is safe from all that is going on in the world. I need some help. I finally got my 29 sorted out (or so I thought). I've got a newly rebuilt Zenith 1 carb on my car and every so often at 1/2 throttle or so, it backfires thru the carb. Not always but enough for concern. I feel like I've got the timing dead on and I've followed the carb tuning that I found on another site. No change however. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

  11. 29Chandler, first and formost, we are praying for you. I truly understand what you're going thru. I worked with the North Carolina Forest Service for about 5 years. So, Yes I do know. I've made several trips out west to help with wildfires it's doesn't usually turn out good for all involved but, let me say this. Don't give up . Always have a plan but don't give up. There are plenty of great men and women out there doing their best. Maybe with enough prayers and some better weather everything will be O.K. I believe we would all be thinking about our classic cars and trucks but, everything can be replaced except for life. Stay safe. Again, I'm praying for you.
  12. Although the glove box door looks like it has a chrome finish, the lines on the door line up perfectly with the lines on the rest of the dash. These ole pics seemed to bring up lots of good memories with quite a few members. Thanks again.
  13. Tony, I have no answer to your question as I live in NC. I do however love your truck. I don't know the year but, I learned to drive @ 13 y/o on a 1953 5 window. I will never forget how that old truck drove. I've looked for one for the past 20 years or so. Again, beautiful truck.
  14. I have one of the "reproduction" window stickers for my Corvette Stingray for when I show it. I don't have it to try and deceive anyone. As a matter of fact, the guys that do the window stickers for the Corvette are so meticulous about reproducing these that you must send them proof of the Vin number so nothing can be added that didn't come with the car. Anyway, I have the document to let people remember what you got back in the day for $5600. I must be different than most because, I would have never thought of using one to deceive anyone.
  15. Padgett, sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant the replaced parts would have to be recalibrated. Not just by the dealer but as you know, most mechanics don't have the kind of software/tool to do this. (At least not in the area I'm from). I was just saying the parts weren't just plug and play type of parts. Cars are way too sophisticated people always seem to want the vehicle with everything.
  16. I work in the auto industry. Sorry but purposes that should be reasonably understood, I won't say what we build/produce. The parts we make are often changed out by the dealership after only 20-25 thousand miles. Mind you, most everyone reading this should be fully capable to change out these parts yourself but, they are designed in such a way after replacing on the automobile, they HAVE to be recalibrated by the dealer. Just another way to get your money. Saying this, anyone could change out our parts yourself and they would work fine except without the recalibration, you will always have a check light on . The cars made today are not much different that the cars we have in our garages except our cars don't have the computer. And, yet everyone has to have the next best thing. I've always said the computer was the death of the automobile. Getting back to the original post, I replaced the DRL on my Cadillac SRX by going through the inner fender wells and then removing a small piece of plastic behind the light fixture.
  17. OH, AND FUTHERMORE, THE '66 AND 67 CHEVELLE SS ARE BRINGING A BOAT LOAD OF TODAY MONEY ! AROUND HERE AT LEAST.
  18. My high school car was a 1966 Chevelle SS with a real L-88 427 that was bored .060 over. Had 12 1/2 to 1 pistons. A M-22 4 speed with a 456 gear underneath. Got crappy gas mileage but I had the car. I supported this habit with a bus drivers salary. LOL. The car was black with brand new Cragars on it. Saved all my mowing money for several years before buying the car and we built the engine with money from working at the local Gulf station. YES, I would love to have my car back. Sorry, no pics. Back then couldn't afford film for the camera.
  19. Flivverking, I've been around cars all my life and I don't understand the purpose of spraying nitro on the car. Is this some sort of painting procedure ?
  20. It's well known that here in good ole' North Carolina, the State Troopers are not on the roads between the hours of 1a.m. and 6 a.m.. There is always a trooper on call in the event of an accident but, otherwise you won't see one. You pay close enough attention and you will see all kinds of illegal stuff on our interstate.
  21. Just another example of the continuing of the DUMBING DOWN of AMERICA ! Man, you just can't make this crap up !
  22. Those "red Flag" warnings are something that everyone in this hobby goes thru. Nobody can tell you the right or wrong car to buy. That is solely up to you. We can offer any advise that you would care to hear. We can also try and help you with any problems with whatever car you buy. You just have to decide on the car. There are many different car clubs in almost every state that represent almost any kind of car you are interested in buying. The men and women in these clubs are almost always willing to stop what they are doing and help. You don't have to know how to do something if you know how to find someone trustworthy to help. You will find this kind of help in any club you join. Who knows, in short time you may be helping others with their problems. It's funny, in one of your post you said you weren't even American. That's not a problem that I've ever seen in this hobby. Everyone seems to have one desire, being around beautiful cars. take the plunge, we will help you get thru it.
  23. Sappdog, Do I understand that you are only asking about the resale value of any Car ? If that's correct, no one here could answer your question with absolute accuracy because the price of any car is only what someone is willing to pay for it. You may pay $40000. today and keep it in as bought condition and in 2 years you may only get offers for about $35000. or on the other hand, you may get offers of $45000. or more. It is a crap shoot at best. This is why everyone here is telling you to buy what YOU really want. Just in case you aren't able to recover your money.
