  1. As with lots of this stuff, the part numbers are different, but it sure looks the same.... Sometimes a moulding hole is the only difference. The rear fenders and the front doors and decklid sure have me wondering what Commander parts will actually fit a 2 door Champion?
  2. Still figuring out what is missing and comparing to the Commander. I know I need One tail light and housing, 'Champion hood script/ Studebaker script. . I may have a new Commander windshield. All of its mouldings. I only took a few pics of what I was looking for. Its in a dark barn.... NW Washington State
  3. I still need 41 Champion parts, but in the process of looking- I found a 41 Commander as a donor car for my 41 Champion and I only need a few bits from it. It is well preserved, Solid body on a rolling chassis, and very rust free. . no eng/ trans. , no hood, but nice metal, some glass and window regs, drums, diff and steering , some dash parts are there and nice. Contact me if you need 41 parts- I have Commander and some Champion stuff. I need some Champion parts too. Trades welcome ,
  4. You would't have an Autolite catalog, or know about how to read the part numbers would you? I have IGW 3028 AS and wonder if it is the same as what you have listed? And what do the 2 letters mean on the end of the part number? ( I have several other numbers to figure out too and would buy a catalog, or copy . )
  5. I googled it and looked at a few thousands pics to try and ID these. Any help at all would be great. Thanks!!
  6. I have some wheels from a 27 ? I will check back. Still looking at your steering parts. Pretty sure I have them.
  7. I have a whole Ball and Ball carb made for Chrysler to get rid of....
  8. Zap me an email before you start cutting... I've been there.
  9. I have a front or rear seat bottom/ from an EJ , Pretty sure it was a sedan 4 door? That was made into a truck. I have 1 side hood, windshield, 1 disc wheel, brass lug nuts, and some misc parts I'm looking to get rid of. Due to covid, The engine, radiator shell, doors, headlight and some other parts / dash did not make it home. I can fetch them soon if anyone is looking.
  10. I was looking at this cowl in case it may have some parts on it or with it. I do not need a whole cowl, just parts. The metal is in really good condition- except for the missing parts! Looking for 32 Commander model 71 : Cowl air vent hinge/ center strip for hood about 38 inches, front bracket/ clip to rad. and parts "s' cable and dash bezel sample of welting/woven cloth on cowl and on Rad shell
  11. I was going to pick it up if it is what I need. 31- 33 . If not it will be available cheap.
  12. If I read the parts book correctly- I am just learning- The model 61 and model 71 share the same starter. It is a 3 bolt starter, same housings, armature, and case bolts. I compared 4 major items- the case, the bolts, the armature and the end cone after looking at the basic starter assy part number. They are the same except for type of bendix. If you are sure of both your starter tag numbers and his- just change the nose cone. There were type A, type b bendix units so the bendix needs to stay with the cone if they are different because of the bearing. He should also triple check all of his car's numbers. Is it Canadian built?
  13. A new sector shaft? that is awesome considering how old that model is. I recall some models had 'aux. steering arm and shaft' somewhere around 1937- 41. I wonder if this was one of those that require it , that never got one. I have some 'shafts' in my stash, I wonder if the 'arms' are still out there? There were 2 different sizes, one for smaller Champions and a CE/ President ... Check the book.
  14. I know it is hard to see, but I 'saved it' in my computer and then I could blow it up. I'm thinking 1927 ish? Can anyone ID this cowl? Thanks
  15. What Gary said, because any 'worn' metal parts will wear faster once they start. - Just adding the thicker grease has tightened up a decent amount of 'play' in some of my older, worn cars
  16. Richard- the cable in your picture does not look to be hooked up at the distributor. Must have been a problem for them too! Thanks for the pic. Rick- your '31 may be close enough. Does your 'S' cable start the car? Does it run out to the starter, or a Start ex ? If that is the right name- where is the Start ex in the book? Thanks.
  17. I can ask where it sold to, but not everybody shares info like that.. It was local to here for a short while.
  18. I'm kind of getting the body fit issues sorted except a few things: The air cleaner will not come out without removing the fuel pump. was this an issue, or do I worry about engine mountings or wrong fuel pump? The dash has a place for 2 cables? I have seen pics of C and S cables on the left side. Were these for Choke and Dist advance? If so- read below- We have a switch on the steering wheel that operates one cable that goes to Dist advance and for now- I made a cable from the column over to the advance? ( why 2 ) ? and how do they work? Did the distributor have a pin or bolt in the little hole between the lock plate and the advance plate? We have a choke cable at the carb that goes to nowhere. It is only about 24 inches. Did it go to the 'manifold heat box' ? or to the dash? The heat box on the exh manifold has an ON and Off position. Is the spring supposed to keep it "ON' until it heats up? I think the spring is to the wrong side, and quite strong. Any help , routing pics, etc ( nit picks welcome ) I did find a parts book, the 'cable section' is clear as mud but I can now at least find some info!
  19. I'd keep an eye out for one, but the car was already mechanically restored , so it has freewheeling for now but no cable. I did not mean to hijack this thread except I was wanting to know about options.
  20. Is the other one you need a mirror image, or more straight? About the same length? How about any measurements?
  21. Agreed. I'm always looking for pics and data...... Thanks Gary.
  22. That is nothing like this Commander. Sorry....
