  1. Thanks Marty. I have to ask just what are the differences in a Chrysler flat six over a Dodge six from this time? I have a few more mopar flat 6's in the car barn. The more I read about this year Chrysler it seems to come back as a special year. Wish it was a NY'er but maybe in the future I can find one.
  2. Wonder will it will look like with a good buffing and a little wax ?
  3. Well thank you very much ! let me send you a PM. We might have to talk a little as well about what carb your running in your 32 Dodge.
  4. I talked to both he and his wife and they were fed up with all the low ball offers and no shows and were basically screening all the calls until "they got a feel" from somebody. Maybe I got lucky and said the right things in my message as he called me right back. They don't have to sell it but it is taking up room in the garage he wants for something else. The way he explained it the nose of the car sat semi exposed in a garage to the elements blowing in when he found it hence the weird surface rusting on the nose and not so much towards the rear. Good conversion and he had the right answer to things. Seemed really appreciative I was willing to ask all the questions and let him talk about the car. That it was going to an old car guy. But he made it clear he did not want it hotrodded. His son wanted to pull the body, throw under a dakota frame, modernize everything. To solid of an original car for that he said. Just what I like. Glad we could make a deal.
  5. Just spent an hour on the phone with the owner, looks like it will be heading this way shortly. Really nice older gentlemen who saved the car from his son hotrodding it. A very much original and unmolested car and yes, it has over drive. I think I can have a lot of fun with this.
  6. Quite the odd paint job on this one. Some how I can smell the mold from in TX. Looks like it has sat out very more then a few years under a bad tarp ?
  7. If this is a basic 3 on the tree with no over drive and has a flat 6 what would the differences be then over a same year plymouth ? Just trim ? Better interior ?
  8. Now if you can find me a 37-39 Chrysler in driving condition close to TX ! Why a Chrysler? I like the badging on the front hood.
  9. Looks like a car that was inherited and sat. Mice got in it I would say. The floor repair is minimal. You can toss on some seat covers for the time. Headliner needs to come out to rid the mice stink. Says brakes are down, carb is most likely gummed up from sitting. Expect to flush the tank. All simple fixes on these old mopars. My 53 four door is in better shape overall then this but more road rash which I got for 1700. Brakes and such brought it too 2600 I figure. This has new tires and an attempted fix of the carb I guess. You could have a nice driver within a weekend with this one. I am going to watch it and if it stays below 4k with 2 hours left I might go get it. I have the brakes, carb rebuild kit, etc already on the shelf here. Might be a good flipper being a 2 door. edit. I just tossed 2800 at it to give it some love.
  10. Let me post this 1950 Plymouth which is 45 minutes from me. Hard to turn this one away but I am looking for a 39 Chrysler. Have the 50 Chrysler and a 53 Plymouth already but this looks like one hell of a deal. 4500 buy it now. Can't understand why it is still there. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1950-Plymouth-DeLuxe-2DR/124151646594?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D7989775dcfd5427dba19ef7de18af7a9%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D164156934046%26itm%3D124151646594%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A9468d0be-8182-11ea-b6c9-fe0f55a31350|parentrq%3A8dbc07101710ad30d31b15b2ffdc0580|iid%3A1
  11. I looked at this one. Sometimes a couple times a day, trying to figure out just what isn't right about it. I tried to find a paint chip card for this year and they do list a "silver" for that year. But something seems off. Like that white one that is around with the crushed red velvet interior. The coupe though is out of my range for sure but a beautiful car.
  12. Looking at the headlight surrounds, are these aftermarket offered parts to run more modern headlights or an option from the tear drops? Are the tear drop headlights a special bulb or just the lense?
  13. Looked at a couple Imperials and one person had done the entire gauge surround and glovebox in burled stainless.
  14. My hi-po days are long over and never ventured into anything that wasn't carburated but I can imagine that on something like this when it breaks it basically self destructs every expensive part at the same time.
  15. Highways are empty. They were able to set a new cannonball run record last week by better then an hour averaging about 103 mph. That is coast to coast. https://www.westernjournal.com/team-reportedly-beats-cannonball-run-coast-coast-record-empty-highways/?utm_source=site&utm_medium=protrumpnews&utm_campaign=can
  16. After two back to back rain filled weekends today is turning out to be a super mid 70's Easter Day. So time to get the big girl out and give her a little exercise. Seems I wasn't the only one thinking that. Gas station in town was mobbed. Head over to the grocery store to pick up dinner for "Surf and Turf Sunday" and they are full. But a fully stocked meat and seafood case made me happy. Then headed over to the town park for a couple photo's and everyone is out enjoying the sunshine and doing Easter Egg hunts. Not a parking spot one to be found. Jeeze. So I gave up and headed to the hardware store and that parking was almost full too ! Folks getting the summer gardens going it looked like. Ran in and got my fuel stabilizer and thankfully the line moved at a good clip. Then jumped on the highway quick and blew out the cobwebs on a high speed 10 mile jaunt and then home. Nice to enjoy an actual Spring this year but I already need to mow again after 4 days ! grrr. 1 inch of rain followed by two 96 degree days will do that.
  17. I let the 70 year old owner of the company I work for drive my survivor 53 Plymouth last week. His normal driver is some top end Mercedes touring autobahn rocketship edition something or the other. Enjoyed it so much he is now looking for one. Smile ear to ear. Said it brought back many forgotten memories growing up. Can't honestly say you hear that much with chopped up and rodded old cars.
  18. Looking for a driver 39 Chrysler. 6 or 8 cylinder with O/D.
  19. Like the colors on the 1950 Chrysler. Very comfortable car to drive with the semi auto transmission and a very dependable car I have found out as well. You know your driving a very solid car by feel. Mopar prices still amaze me. There is a 52 Imperial I saw where the owner changed colors on the car and put in aftermarket Green Highlander Plaid to his taste.
  20. I am pretty interested in it. So I might try a call late tomorrow.
  21. I tried to contact him from Craigslist. No answer. Don't want call over the holiday.
