  1. Haulin' the '25. (Had to buy a longer taller trailer when the '25 arrived) !
  2. It does appear to be a K16. Attached is a photo of a 1916 sold at action recently.
  3. Looks like a generic copy of the '40 Packard grill guard. Sorry I can't put a specific brand name on it though.
  4. Interesting history.I'm working on a pair of curved dash Olds engines,a 1901 and 1903,that I found in an old granary a few years ago.The '03 was converted to a vertical stationary power plant .
  5. Beetles have been used as police vehicles around the world. They are agile in snow and quick darting in and out of traffic. High speed pursuits, not so much but imagine robbery suspects trying to get away through dense traffic in their '60's Detroit behemoth with a police VW dodging through it all.
  6. I'm still looking for a pair of rear bumperettes as pictured. These were an aftermarket accessory available for many mid to late '20's cars. Only the mounting brackets were vehicle specific.I have the brackets that mount to the spare tire holder on my '25 Buick Standard coupe and the front bumper. The front bumper has a reverse curve at the outer end, like the rear one pictured here. Any help or leads appreciated I have a US shipping address if required. Thanks. Jim
  7. Thanks to Roy at roysboystoys I now have a functional dome lamp. There was a switch among photos of a number of items he had for sale that looks and works well. It may not be the exact bezel, but it looks similar to the rad shell design.
  8. I'm looking for a pair of rear bumperettes to match the front accessory one on my '25 Buick coupe. The have a reverse curve at the ends. You have something similar to the left of the '29 Buick front but I can't see the ends. Jim
  9. One of my favorite orphans is Franklin, particularly 1929 (steel frame instead of wood.same style "radiator"as '25-28) and especially a close coupled sedan. Not likely going to happen, having settled on a 1929 McLaughlin-Buick club sedan. My only orphan is my '40 Packard coupe. Good luck with acquiring the Jewett.
  10. Here's a few photos taken during the restoration of my '29 McLaughlin-Buick. Almost every piece of wood was replaced on this body. It helped that the owner/restorer was a master cabinet maker by trade ! Took him 10 years. Jim
  11. You never know.Last year we took the '25 Buick coupe to a predominately rod and custom show and won People's Choice ! Maybe it's sort of like a dog or baby show where "cuteness" counts. Jim
  12. Finally took the '29 McLaughlin-Buick out for a run.Still working on getting the brakes set up,but at least the engine knock is gone.Took to a wax job like a fresh restoration,It's stood up well considering the paint job dates from the early 1980's. Jim
  13. Not mine, but a friend who is selling due to failing health. Both cars are good amateur restorations and have been sitting in dry storage for a number of years. Look under Kijiji Ontario Classic cars for photos and details item # 1442917878 and # 1442928862 .Call Ken at 519-485-1931 Ingersoll,Ontario.(Prices are in Canadian dollars and serious offers will be considered) Jim
  14. Good luck with that. Labatt's here in Ontario wanted one of their streamlined 1947 beer trucks to restore.A trailer was found in rough shape, having been used as an office in a gravel pit.No tractor was ever found,so a regular White cabover was used as a base to hand build a replica. The end result is amazing.
  15. This image was taken from a slide made in the 1970's of my '21 Chevy roadster pickup sporting it's curtains.Darn things are dangerous. Try getting your hand out in time to signal a turn. The curtains were made using the originals as patterns. The originals, like the car, were cut down from a touring. Jim
  16. Looks to me like the result of a distracted fast driving pickup owner burying his ride into the back of the Cadillac !
  17. A few nice originals turned up at our HASC week-long meet in Dorchester, Ontario. Attached is a '23 Reo T6 "Vanishing Motor Camp" !
  18. The Historical Automobile Society of Canada has a week long "hub" tour that began 62 years ago called the Normoska. (The first one was around Muskoka,Ont,hence the shortening of North to Muskoka to Normoska. This year,it was held near me in Dorchester,Ontario. There were 78 registrants, with everything from a '15 Model T roadster to modern. The club's "Heritage 35" group were the hosts. Thursday evening we hosted a car show so that the locals could see them up close. The local car community was invited to participate. The '25 Buick coupe was there, it's first run since it's new fan hub was installed. It was the first time I've ever driven it home with the lights on. I was grateful for a neighbour who covered my butt,as that one tiny tail light doesn't give much warning.
  19. I guess I should have looked more closely at the ad ! Good luck !
  20. There's a restored '63 on Kijiji Ontario (in Toronto). Item number is 1437038572. $25000 CDN. Jim
  21. Not quite what you're looking for and not presently for sale, but thought you might like to see this "stationary" Olds engine. It is a 1903 curved dash engine modified back in the day to stationary format with twin flywheels,a pulley, and a special base to make it a vertical engine. Haven't had it running yet. Jim
  22. We took the '25 coupe for a tour up to see a fellow HASC member's collection. The fan hub has been leaking oil since I got it and finally soaked the fan belt so bad that slippage caused some overheating. A new replacement hub with sealed bearings will be done shortly, and a local harness maker made a new belt. Thanks to Hugh25-25 for the measurements on the new hub. Jim
  23. It's a Hebrew word meaning "married" (Wikipedia). It's an appropriate name since we spend so much time and treasure on them !
  24. DEFINITELY NOT MINE ! Just curious to see what you guys think of this "classic" for sale on Toronto. https//www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/city-of-toronto/1954-rolls-royce-silver-wraith/1449024509?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
