  1. Trans temp is your friend or enemy. By putting the extra ( not the only) cooler before the radiator the exchanger can raise or lower the temp to the required temp. One other thing, all two or three of these I installed (it’s been a few years) we’re set up with the proper fittings so it could only be attached one way. I guess they were trying to make it idiot proof so as not to be sued for destroying transmissions. I believe they called those days the law suit happy society days. dave s
  2. I also put the auxiliary cooler as far forward away from the radiator but still in a good air flow as possible. I assume you would realize that but just wanted to be sure as I’ve seen them right next to the radiator. dave s
  3. I have added a few extra trans coolers to trucks hauling the horse trailers so the line is before the radiator. I’ve hauled 4 horse trailers all over the Rockies with out a problem.
  4. I had a Wheaton Golden mix that loved to ride on the cover of the pickup while we were hauling my daughters horses. He would open the rear sliding window and crawl out there and sleep. Cars would pull up along side us and honk their horns and point to the dog. He didn’t like to come back in but would reluctantly. dave s
  5. I think Ed just told us he is taking the "GREAT WHITE" to the 18th green at Pebble Beach and is going to eat the competition- makes it the only one left to WIN!!! Good plan. dave s
  6. Pay attention to the details not only in old cars but in everything you do and you will eliminate many problems. Perfection is a goal never reached but well worth striving too accomplish. dave s
  7. Bob’s Speedometer 10123 Bergen rd Howell Mi. 48843-7048 810-632-0400 800-592-9673 Does great fast work. Reasonable prices dave s
  8. I’ll say this before you go any further in this story — You are a brave man! I think we are in for a good story and build.
  9. Yes keep it going. We want to see the final pics all painted up!
  10. Great post. Only comment on above pics is the “top up” pics seem to be missing something! 😳 You do beautiful work. davs s
  11. I was just curious as your work is so detailed and good. I’ve only known one guy that did lead work about 50 years ago. I always thought of him as an artist very similar to your work. What you are doing here looks more like a restoration than a custom to me ( but what do I know) and it fits in here more than a lot of the treads on the forum. Please keep posting and explaining it is very interesting to many of us I’m sure. dave s
  12. Two of the door handles and the steering wheel look ok. Not so sure about the rest, rust of frame would be biggest worry. Plus a ton of work on the rest. Are they giving it to you or at least very low cost. It’s going to take a good amount of cash for parts. dave s
  13. If my wife sees this she may make it my HOME & Office instead of a traveling office. dave s
  14. In the mid 80’s I was offered two Jag MK V’s for $1000. One was running and drivable the other a parts car that ran but needed a lot of work. Had just bought a house and had no extra cash. That’s life. dave s
  15. Are you going old school for filling in the seams and use lead or welding then body filler skim?
  16. That is coming along very nicely. You do beautiful work especially with limited tools. dave s
  17. Guess the top speed and win at ride at Hersey 2021! Why not. 82 wins it all.
  18. You sold the BIG BOY1😟. Love those trucks and someday I may get lucky to have one, but I’m running out of time at my age🤨 dave s
  19. The e-type was the most beautiful car Enzo Ferrari ever saw. Thank goodness he never saw this one. It’s butt ugly! dave s
  20. I spent a lot of time online and on the phone with a seller in Van Cover on a Jag Mk IX. He sent me about 50-60 pictures. As I had never been there my wife and I decided to take a shirt vacation along with seeing the car. It was in mud up to the frame. Totally rusted out and not worth being a parts car. When asked about the pics the seller said “I thought you wanted to know how it would look after you worked on it”. Go see it or be sorry you didn’t. My story happens more than not. dave s
  21. The new issue just arrived ! Enjoying the articles. Haven’t seen the new membership card yet but not worried about it as I still have no place to go where I may need it. I’m a little surprised the card isn’t used as the mailing label for the first issue after new order or renewal order. It would solve the problem of not getting card or knowing the association received it when you get an issue after renewal. It would also save postage dollars for the association. It’s an easy process and we did it for years for a national association with a much smaller member list. Also if you just did it the first issue or two of a new year the savings would be good, the annual membership date has to mean the majority of cards are being sent in Jan/Feb. just a thought to try to save a few bucks. dave s ps. Steve if the GM ( or should I say gm?) brass comes looking for that Oldsmobile sign, let us know. I’m sure you will have a large number of membership show up as your support backup! Lol
