The classic car market in an era of COVID-19
mike6024 replied to 1935Packard's topic in General Discussion
I should have grabbed this when I had a chance. It's been sold. It was only $6,000 asking price, less than 800 hours on it, and a 6 cylinder (gas) Ford engine so it is a powerful machine. At least for the money. Probably chip just as fast as one of those Vermeer 1000 which are usually $20K+ used. -
1971 Alfa Romeo in New York being Auctioned

Sold for $22,500 I was thinking $15 to $17,000 -
Actually the door panel boards in my '67 Alfa were hardboard masonite originally. So it's not like I am using a cheap, inferior substitute.

http://www.miamicorp.com/products/SUPPLIES @@26 TOOLS/DOOR PANEL BOARD/COWLBOARD.aspx example of the cowl board. Seems the "waterproof" version is just the cardboard with a plastic film layer on it.

I used 1/8 inch masonite hardboard. It's $4 for a 2 by 4 ft piece at Home Depot and other places have it. Also 4 by 8 ft if you need larger.

Great pictures. I think my older brother dressed like that. Dark jeans with the cuff turned up a bit. The black jacket. he and his buddy had a Ford hotrod though, not a motorcycle. -
Seems a reasonable price to me. There have been comments about rust, but it seems the body is in very good condition and the rust is minor.

It costs ( here anyway ) $16 each to take junk tires to the dump. So giving a full refund saves you the dump fee.

I don't have auto insurance with Farmers. I have homeowners with them. They sent me this email, which doesn't apply to me. "Farmers is reducing auto insurance premium by 25% for the month of April on Farmers branded policies"

The Vice Grips with the "Easy Release" are a newer model, not an "antique." Real Vice Grips don't have that.
